Hi girls

I thought I'd give the charting girls a break from me bleeting on about my hcg levels and come in here....I am feeling very anxious about them not doing as they should.

I've had 3 m/c now so probably a good reason to be a little psycho. I found out on Sunday I am pg again, I had my first hcg done on Monday lunchtime and that was 427, I had another one done on Wednesday morning and that was 804 so not quite where it should be. My boobs are tender but I dont feel very sick, just a little seedy from time to time. Exhausted though. Apart from that I dont feel very pregnant at all! I dread going through another m/c, god where do you get your strength from? I guess there is nothing I can do to stop that happening. Trying to be positive for me and DH but its hard - not sure if I should prepare myself for the worst or tell myself its all going to be ok.

It helps to write this all down, sorry for the downer post. I hope im posting this in the right place, I dont want to stress anyone else out.

Maybe there is someone on here who's hcg leves didn't quite double and they went on to have a happy healthy baby?

No experience myself but didn't want to read and run In terms of symptoms I wouldn't expect to have ms that early so wouldn't worry about not having that yet, I didn't feel pregnant at all until about 6 weeks when it hit me.

Good luck, hope everything turns out well for you

Hugs mrshopeful!! I can totally understand why you would feel paranoid!!

I m/c'd my first pregnancy at about 8 weeks. The second time my hpt lines were so faint and due to not knowing exactly when af had arrived I had bloods done soon after we found out, just to confirm. My first lot of bloods detected hcg, I went for more tests 3 days later and they hadn't quite tripled and the nurses words were along the lines of "I'm not sure what that means" so I was in limbo not knowing if I was pregnant or not. It was a long wait until 12 weeks but all I could do was think positive and tell myself not to worry unless something happened. Easier said than done and I did about 10 more hpt's in the next week or so - they were all so faint I could barely see them.

Those faint little lines and the not quite tripled hcg turned into DS who is now a happy and healthy 13 month old.

I have everything crossed that everything is just fine for you, I know it will be a long wait but try and keep positive. Take care

And just to add - I hardly felt pregnant at all this time, a few nauseas moments but nothing major until much later on

Argh I hate HCG levels!!! Especially after recurrent mc's, I feel your pain! But congratulations    My hcg's doubled I think only once in 48hrs and by the time I stopped having blood tests (around 6.5wks) they were barely going up at all! It caused ALOT of stress and anxiety on my behalf, but I had my baby boy in October and all is well. I think those numbers are totally fine anyway - it wasn't quite 48hrs between tests, they recommend you do your tests at the same time to make it more accurate. Are you doing another test tomorrow? Try and do it around the same time as Wednesday's test if you can. As for the feeling pg, My boobs were sore but that was about it. Around 6 weeks I started feeling seedier though. With DD I started puking around 6.5wks until around 10wks. With DS I just felt seedy until 12wks but didn't puke apart from 2 nasty tummy bugs in the first tri    All the best, as I said it looks great now so I really hope everything works out for you!

Doubling time this early on is generally around 48-72 hours (but also normal to go quicker or take a bit longer) so your levels are doing exactly as they should considering there was less than 48 hours between them. Dont put too much investment into the numbers, so long as they are climbing, its generally a good sign!

With my 1st I had major ms from the day after finding out (so from 4 weeks) then I had 2 mc's where I felt just as sick. When I finally got preg with DD, the first 2 weeks passed with no nausea which scared me silly as to me, pregnancy = being sick. A lot. I ended up going for 2 early scans (the first one being too early which scared me even more after losing 2 the year before!) but bang on 6 weeks the ms hit, and hit hard. Be careful what you wish for huh? Oh and I had 3 hcgs done, the first 2 being rather low, leaving my GP all doom and gloom, but I knew from various threads on here, and googling hcg doubling time calculators that my levels were perfectly fine as they were.

This time around I delayed both early scan and hcg to be sure I didnt get any questions over 'viability' and symptoms started off barely noticeable (unless I skipped a meal, then I knew all about it!)

It is very hard to remain positive after that first loss, even more so when the losses have been recurring. Crossing everything that all turns out well for you this time.

Hi

I had four mc before having a baby and I totally empathise with what you are going through. The first few weeks are tortuous after recurrent miscarriages. Basically, your hcg results are totally consistent with a healthy pregnancy but its just too early to know yet.
Can you get a scan at 6 ish weeks to check for a heart beat. That is more accurate than hcg so can give more reassurance.

I have my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for all your comments girls - does make me feel a little better - feel a lot more positive than I did this morning. I haven't told a soul so its nice to be able to come on here and vent.

I am having another blood test done in the morning, I'll feel like a right plonker if its fine! I have everything crossed that this wee one will stick.

And thanks Monkeys

I never got my levels tested so I don't know the answer to your question. Certainly us pg people (or ones who have been!) know what it's like to feel anxious in those first couple of months! I hope everything turns out perfectly fine with this one. Do you have a real-life friend who you can confide in too? Then you can have real-life hugs and real-life chocolate too.

A real life hug and some chocolate (and wine?) would be great about now! I dont want to tell anyone yet, the thought of dissapointing my family and friends makes me want to cry. When I make an announcement this time I want it to be pretty set in stone that all will be well. So its just me, DH and the internet world keeping me sane at the mo!

I really do appreciate your comments and understanding - thank you

MrsH, honestly I think your HCGs sound perfect. I know it wont stop the worrying so feel free to post away
My HCG at 16DPO with Lilla was 80. (Im guessing you were around the same stage when you got your first test done?) so yours are way higher already and she is here with me
Keep us updated tho k hun? When your next ones come back fine xx

My hcg levels never doubled with any of my pregnancies and I stressed about it as well. Your levels look really good though and I hope this next test will put your mind at rest.

Mine took about a week to double at one point - when they should have at least tripled. I was sure that I was headed for my fourth miscarriage that year...but went for the scan and there was a little heartbeat. Both my husband a doctor with O&G experience and my midwife were not that positive about the numbers, but the fact that they were going up a lot was the main thing.

Can I suggest something...quit taking the blood tests. There is no good reason for taking them, they are making you really anxious and while I really understand the need to know, not knowing your HCGs cannot be worse than the stress you are under now. I would never, ever do serial HCGs again (unless there was a specific medical reason for it).

Your HCG levels sounds really good to me.

I had to do some to check I didn't have an ectopic pregnancy - they made me so anxious I refused to get more than 2 done.

I'm not surprised you are feeling so anxious after 3 miscarriages. I hope this is a very sticky bub who gives you no trouble.

I had my 3rd blood test this morning, I'll know later on this arvo what the results are. No more blood tests for me after this, the clinic has offered me a scan just after 6 weeks so thats just over a week away - I can hang out til then.

Wish me luck

Good luck MrsH
Good idea with the scan, I found that more reassuring than HCGs

My hcg went form 804 to 1508 so just off the mark again. But not by much - taking just over 2 days to double. Done a bit of mad googling and it seems I am within the 'normal' range. My last pg my hcg levels were sky high and I m/c so....who knows I guess.
I have a scan booked for the 2nd March so that will tell! Off camping for the weekend with DH so that will be fun, try and forget about this for a week and a half
