So a slightly different take on this - what would you pack in your LABOUR bag, what did you need / want during the time that you were labouring at the hospital?

So far in mine I have -

Snacks (pumpkin seeds, musli bars, dried apple), Water bottle, rescue remedy, clean knickers, washbag, camera, ipod, a sarong, a sports bra type top to wear in the birthing pool (if I get in), a small towel, my wheat pag......and an outfit to dress baby in for birthcare transfer (a bit tricky given if its a night she will need to be more wrapped up!).

Anything obvious I have missed?

I wouldn't bother with a towel - the hospital has plenty. Maybe some electrolyte-type drinks? Cellphone? Some pads, perhaps, although the hospital should have them too. I found them really useful in early labour when my waters were gushing with every contraction

My CBE recommended yoghurt as a good snack cos it's easy to eat, and just have a spoonful between contractions.

I think your list sounds pretty good already!! If I remember correctly I don't think I actually needed anything in labour, went in just after midnight so was already in my p.js, but yea I think you've got it covered, I ended up naked most of the time in the pool anyway lol . As long as you have comfy clothes for you and bubs, anything you need to relax I think that's all I took for the labour?I also remember wanting heaps of water, but of course thats readily available

Have you got a change of clothes for you for the transfer to Birthcare?
Do you need a list of names and numbers of who to contact once baby is born?

I didn't actually need anything from my bag for either labour, was at hospital about 3hrs before Jack was born and about 20mins before Ben was born

I don't think I used a bag, the only things I took with me were a soft toy I grabbed during contractions, and a pic of Caitlyn and a scan of Tyler,to remind myself what it was all about at the end of the day

I had some lollies, biscuits, a drink, book, ipod, phone, camera, clothes, undies, pads galore, sudoku book (lol went through a phase)...

I spent most of my labour in a baggy nighty or in my bra with no pants in the birthing tub. I second comfy clothes for wearing after the birth and hair ties...

Tbh I never touched the ipod or book or sudoku or the magazines MIL got me.

Ideally you wouldn't need anything like ipod or book because you'll already be busily in labour when you arrive. Definitely need a change of clothes for yourself though, a couple of clean pairs of undies, and make sure you take a maternity (feeding) bra. Take a baby blanket for baby's transfer too.

A wee hat for bebe after arriving (one that you don't mind getting grubby) before being cleaned up. Wasn't something I ever thought of.

I bought one of those wooden managers from the body shop and it was awesome!! It helps the person doing it not strain their hands! (So you get a really long massage! :P)

I second the lip balm.  Other than that DH had packed a birthing bag full of snacks he remembered from antenatal classes, but to be honest I didn't have any of them.  It just added to the stuff we had to lug from birthcare to hospital then back to birthcare.

I didn't have a separate bag - just had stuff I might need in a pocket of the hospital bag. And really didn't need anything during labour except my water bottle and birth aid drops!

Got in to a hosp gown and then when pool was full got in there with nothing on, don't see the point in having anything on up top cos when you have skin to skin you will want it off anyways.

Don't forget to pack some toiletries. After both my labours, I was desperate for a shower. I had a toilet bag with shampoo & conditioner, shower gel, toothbrush etc. And a fresh change of clothes too - something comfy like baggy drawstring PJ bottoms, and a stretchy singlet top with a cardigan.
