Topic: teething out of order Posted: 25 December 2010 at 9:03pm |
My 13 month old DD has got both bottom teeth. She got the first one at 9 months the second at 11. We have had nothing since however one of her molars looks like it is cutting as well as one of her top teeth. It was pretty much completely through tonight.
I know that some teeth out of order is common but getting a molar as a 3rd tooth seems really strange. Has anyone experienced this or know where to go for info? I'm not particuarly worried but would like to hear others experiences.

A friend of mines second child got most of his molars first and the front teeth last! I dont think its anything to worry about, as long as they all come through at some stage

Cory has gotten any of his teeth in order, and they have come through fine

My DD (22months) is not teething in order either. She got her first tooth (bottom front) at 1yr, then the 2nd bottom front tooth at 13months. Fast forward to 20months (!) and her 3rd tooth came in lol, one of the top front ones. Then one month later (so within the last month) 5 more teeth have popped up, being the 2nd top front tooth, a tooth right next to her bottom two teeth, and three molars. So now she has 8! Very random. I've been told that babies/toddlers who get teeth in later tend to get them in a strange order (I did too) but they'll all come in eventually

G got her eye teeth at the top before she got her two top front teeth. It looked really weird but she coped fine. She was an average age for starting (9 months) but she got all hers bang bang bang and had all 20 teeth including 2 year old molars before she was 18 months old.

Since last posing her molar has completely cut and one of her top teeth, a bit hard to tell which one as she will only let me feel. Another molar feels like it's on it's way too so I think we will be having a run on teeth over the next few weeks.

Oh the joys of cross cutting teeth, it's harder on them too.
Both my kids cross cut, interesting though my DD is now getting her new teeth in the right order.

It is definatley been hard on her compounded by the fact we are also away on holiday. She is waking more frequently and as we are sharing a bedroom atm there is no chance of her self settling. So glad I'm still BF!
