I went to one chemist and they said nothing is safe to take (this didn't include natural remedies), another chemist I went to said they are all safe, it's just no actual research has been done on it.
Go figure!! So I'm just staying away from everything and sticking to saline spray for my nose and a cold flannel for my itchy eyes
I use eye drops for itchy eyes... but don't take anything else... i get such bad hayfever and i'm on the countdown till the baby arrives.... i want the drugs!!!
It was me who started the other thread. My wee fellow is here now so I can have the proper drugs this year
I found the gel the most successful of all the natural remedies I tried. What gave me the most relief though was sleeping with a cold wet facecloth across my forehead/eyes.
I'm not pregnant, but I started using it again this year. (I found out about it when I was pregnant) It works wonders, especially for your runny nose.
I actually find it works better than the Alanase nosespray.
If you can't find it, your pharmasist should be able to order it in.
I ended up going to my GP because mine was so bad I ended up with an ear infection (from sniffing!). She searched their database thingee and found I could have Loratadine which is basically Clarytine. She wrote me a prescription for it though as she said the chemist probably wouldn't sell it to me. Plus, on a script it only cost $3!! I only needed it for 3 or 4 days thankfully, I guess this rain has dampened all the pollen! Am also using Alanase nasal spray.
A natural remedy that really works is to put olive oil on a cotton bud and wipe it around inside your nostrils. You need to do this as soon as you get up, before the hayfever kicks in though.
