I thought we needed a random question thread.
Mine is: Does the baby keep kicking while you are in labour?

I don't think so either. Too busy travelling down the birth canal. However, I swear while I was pushing he hooked his feet into my ribs as if to try and stay in!! It hurt soooo bad..Trying to lean and push with pointy little feet under your ribs

Ty was very active in the beginning of labour, C was very quiet for a few hours before, but during the active stage they usually aren't ...too much for them to do

During labour he definitely was, I was VBAC and was suppose to be monitored a lot but my mw who is awesome would instead just ask if I had felt him moving and occasionally stuck the doppler on me, I only ever felt him move between contractions. During the pushing stage I have no idea at all, if he was I certainly didn't notice and by that stage they had the belly band thing on me to monitor him.

I got monitored for HOURS (not fun) because my baby wasn't moving enough, so I guess they are suppose to move a bit during labour, you just don't notice it.

DD did, but was rather, or VERY quiet! She stopped when I was fully dilated though or that's when I stopped noticing but mw had a giggle over her kicking the doppler while she was checking DDs HB after I'd been in the tub!

I already sorta asked this in another thread but another random question:
Is there any truth to the old wives tale that if you have a lot of heartburn your baby will have a lot of hair?

Had very little heartburn with my son, he had what would be considered a fair whack of hair.
Had extreme heartburn with my daughter
(different circumstances I was full of amniotic fluid) when she was born I don't reckon she had that much hair, that said she was born early lol

I would have to agree to that wives tale. I had extreme heartburn with DD and she was born with long think dark hair

Had almost no heartburn last time, and Nat was born with a huge mop of hair BUT it was the one question every little old lady asked me when Nat was little

Haha I had horrible heartburn with DD, and she was a wee baldie, only really started getting any hair when she turned 1, and now it's still just fluff compared to others her age, so not true in my case

Good idea for a thread
Re: kicking during labour - I can't say I noticed to be honest!
Re: heartburn and hair - with Ollie I had a little heartburn and he only had a little bit of hair. Lilia I had worse heartburn and she had a good head of hair, with Caleb I had a little heartburn, but he had even more hair than Lilia.

Big fat NO !!!
with my daughter I had heartburn that would wake me up at night and almost had me in tears.
She was as bald as an egg until she was 2.
My son I had lots of heartburn and he had lots of hair
My friend had no heartburn, and her daughter came out looking like she was wearing a wig
My friend had a lot of heartburn with her son and he was bald.
And so on, I know plenty of people who had heartburn really badly and not a hair on babies head.

Mental image of a baby in a wig is quite remarkable, had a bit of a giggle there Kelly
I guess i am just desperate for *anything* that will give me a hint as to what baby is going to look like when he comes out! Impatient!
