At what point do I get concerned that my boy won't eat vegetables?

I don't think he's had any since we stopped feeding him mash a couple of months back. Now he gets offered what ever we're eating including vegetables, but they don't get touched.

He'll eat meat, starches (bread/potato/rice/pasta/cereals) and dairy that's about it. Sometimes a bit of fruit.

How do I get him to eat vege or should I just not worry so much

Plunket told me either veg or fruit it doesn't matter if it's not both. My DD loves peas she thinks they're so fun I'm with kebakat make it fun, I also hide veges in food :)

Put it in a whizz & then put it into mashed potato if he'll eat that. Potatos are a great food. When in season brussel sprouts whizzed up & put into mashed potato are great as they are super charged little things.

Both my kids refuse to eat veges! and I have given up trying for the time being as it was just a huge waste.

However, they love fruit! They heap heaps of banana, peach, pear, mango! so Im not bothered and Im not worried at all, they will eventually as they get older eat veges as their taste bugs change.

Ive tried making it fun for them, still wont work lol, it all gets tossed onto the floor!

Our 21 month old is going through something similar. I tried a new recipe last night- Annabel Karmels hidden vege pasta sauce and she wolfed it down and kept saying yummy.

Not sure if I'm allowed to link to it but is easy to search for on google

Ds doesn't really eat veges either. He eats potato and sometimes pumpkin, and has just started eating tomato and cucumber again. I am not worried as he eats a heap of fruit. Have noticed that he likes the juicy things which I think is why he doesn't eat many veges. But he will eat them in savory muffins.

I am not going to worry to much as Ds will eat them one day. My brother hardly ever ate his veges when growing up but now he is an adult he eats any.

My 18 month old won't eat veges either. I just either add pureed veges into things Im cooking for him or give him the shop bought pureed vege and fruit foil pouches as a "smoothie" which is sucks straight out of the pouch. Also I grate veges like zuchinni, carrot, mushroom & brocolli into his meat patties and spag bol etc. Maybe you could give him the fresh bought ravioli with meat and veges inside since he likes pasta?

I asked a similar question when they had a live chat on here a few weeks ago with a nutrition expert. Her advice was to hide them (so the grating etc) and to make them exciting.

My DS will eat potatoes and bananas and that is about it. She suggested dipping strawberries in hundreds and thousands but he wouldn't have a bar of that.

I have to admit I have stopped stressing about it. He otherwise eats a varied, home-cooked, healthy diet and ultimately I can't make him eat veges and fruit. I just hope that he grows into it sometime soon

DS can identify vege once they're already in his mouth and will spit them out. I don't quite understand how he manages to seperate it out while chewing, but he can.

My 21month daughter doesn't eat that vegetables either but I had great success with corn fritters (just used recipe in Edmonds cookbook). The corn makes them naturally sweet tasting and if I have leftover potato or cauliflower I'll mash a little and mix it through. I get her to help me prepare them and she loves this part, stiring the flour and corn egg etc. Then I cook them while she plays with water and the sink so it's always been a fun association.

Lol, I've found things get tried more often when they're on a pizza

I agree with hiding the veges in food, carrot etc grated into mince mixtures (like spag bol) is great.
Just keep trying offering different vegetables cooked or presented in different ways (try raw too!), and eventually he may start surprising you!

My son is much the same (very common for toddlers I think!), but he has recently decided he loves broccoli! Raw or cooked! This is after offering it more than 20 or so times over recent months. So it will most likely get better at some stage.
