wondering if any of you other ladies that have had endo while pregnant have been really uncomfortable this early on? I'm finding the pain really uncomfey and increasing every week also since about 11 weeks.. feels like the typical endo pain that i had leading up to my prev surgeries..

i'm hoping it wont get to much worse as at times it can be excrutiating when my bladder is full and i go to empty etc.. my midwife said that woman with endo can often have much more painful births also.. eek!

or is it just normal to be uncomfortable when pregnat in general?? sorry for the silly questions, ive never been this pregnant before lol..

i have endo and have had LAP previous too, am looking at induction later this week which is harder than going yourself aswell so im sh*ttng myself, my preg hasnt been too bad after 20 weeks but i did get SPD (symphasis pubis dysfunction) which freaking hurts and during my false labours the contractions brought back all my endo pain memories but still havnt had anything that bad of note... I hope your not suffering too much and morning sickness hasnt hit too hard like it did me!

happy and healthy remainder of your preg, im sure your birth will be fine! iv never been told my endo would make it more painful, the SPD has been known to be harder tho

I have heard you can get stretching pains from your scar tissue which can be quite painful.

Hi Marengo, firstly - congrats on your pregnancy

I've got endo too and have had 5 LAPs before falling pregnant. I've had similar pains to you pretty much most of my pregnancy - but I actually found they got better after the first few months! A few things i felt helpful was gentle walks and swims (actually noticed it when I didnt go for a week or so!), took flaxseed oil & EPO to try and help with the internal scar tissue stretching and also am INSEPARABLE with my wheatbag

I'm not sure if it is normal to be uncomfortable like this during pregnancy, as I wouldnt know either! But the last couple of months of my pregnancy I actually started to feel a lot better..so hopefully this happens for you too

It will be your scar tissue that is stretching that will be the pain. Totally normal.

thanks ladies

i wasnt sure that i was able to take flaxseed oil during pregnancy, but i think that i will start, i'm finding it to uncomfortable to exercise properly at this stage (and have been getting bh when i do so tend to just potter about the house and with my horses and not get too active hehe)

i'm hoping it will improve soon as didnt have that much pain prior to falling preg as had my latest surgery in jan this year,   glad to hear its not 'abnormal' as such with endo :)

That is interesting about the more painful labour.  I found that the pain I've experienced with presumed endo (I either have endo or idiopathic chronic pelvic pain - but it's managed well by the pill) actually made labour pain feel manageable.  I just figured it was all the practise I had in managing the pain of periods previously!

My labours were fine and at first felt like endo pain.

I have endo and had a lap just before getting pregnant - I did get periods of nasty cramping, but hadn't thought that the two might be related. If they were, I did get crampy patches right through, but while some were quite painful they didn't seem to get worse.

Congrats on the pregnancy

I'm so surprised at the number of ladies who have fallen pregnant and have got endo...esp right after laps! It's pretty awesome though after everything you go though with the nasty diesease! Congrats to everyone who's preggers or got bubba's with endo

My bub is due in 3 days, so hopefully the endo doesn't make things more complex..my ob was confident it won't...FX'd!!

I never heard that endo was likely to cause any issues with the birth, new_mummy - and while I have no way of knowing how painful my labour was compared to someone without endo, I doubt it did All the best when your Bubs decides to make an arrival!

Hey amme_eilyk, i was worried about the same thing...mine never popped out - probably cos it wasn't really that big and had so many scars around it! Mines just stretched flat and my scars have stretched out...looks kinda funny. Got quite itchy too but my natropath recommended Artimis Skin and nerve rescue oil and it's really good. I've gone through bottles of it and i reckon it has helped a bit, at least made it less itchy and red!!

My belly button popped right out and the scar was fine, didn't stretch or anything. Probably only thing that didn't as where my belly button ring had been it stretched really badly and got stretch marks(even though I'd removed the ring 2 yrs before getting pregnant) as well as below my belly button - so will most likely be fine!

I got mild cramps at the beginning and for a few weeks before going into labour but sounds like I was really lucky and didn't get full blown ones. I assumed I'd be able to handle the labour pain after endo cramps but I ended up wanting an epi really early!

Only one period with bad cramps since having DS though so that's been a bonus

ooh i didnt even think of the belly button scars heh.. the one on my side i might have probs with as its still red (not infected, jsut not faded) from my jan surgery and it gets itchy now sometimes.

i guess the thing with endo is its so different for everyone, so you never know what will happen really! Ive never had period pain, jsut crippling abdo pain so hopefully the contractions wont be worse then usual..

might find those flaxseed pills and tart takign them.. nothing to lose by giving it a go!

Hi, I am so happy I found this thread.
I have never had endo diagnosed but I am currently on the waiting list for lapro. But I found out I was pregnant on Monday and for a week before that and up until now I have been getting the constant cramps I have learnt to live with since going off the pill in April. Being so early on in my pregnancy (5 weeks tomorrow) I am paranoid it's a miscarriage or ectopic preg (spot the first timeer!!!). But this thread has made me feel a bit more at ease. I'm not bleeding or anything you just read that the 'normal' early preg cramps should only last a day or two and shouldn't inconvience you but mine hurt quite a bit. They seem to be worse since I stopped taking Vitex on Monday (when I found out).

dunnaschic i had early cramping up untill about 7 weeks.. it was like light period cramping..

congrats on your pregnancy.. just take each day as it comes and if you are concerned perhaps a visit to a specialist to check everything okay might be on order?? i went to a high risk pregnancy specaialist and saw him every couple weeks for the first 8 weeks.. each time i was scanned and it was a relief to see it all okay..

with ectopic i'm pretty sure you get spotting and really awful cramps on one side.. a scan will be able to diagnose that evena t this stage of your pregnancy as they will be able to see the sac if its in your uterus..
