My nine month old has always been a fussy eater and hasn't really had a big appertite but for the last few days she really hasn't eaten all that much at all.
She has been unwell with colds for the last month or so, she started refusing her mushy stuff so i started giving her more finger foods which she was happy to eat but the last few days she hasn't even really wanted those. I did manage to get some custard in to her last night after she refused her dinner (both mush and finger food)
Is it just that she isnt feeling well so doesnt want to eat? She is BFing fine though was even a bit fussy on that this morning too....? Just worried as shes quite little at 7.6kgs and Im worried she'll fade away if she doesnt start eating properly!
Hannah have you tried talking to your plunket nurse or calling plunket line or wellchild? Sorry hun I don't have any other advice but if you are worried then I would get a second opinion from somewhere!
Gave her some pamol this morning and for lunch she had a little under 1/4 cup shepherds pie (her favourite!) so maybe she just has a sore throat.... Shes been drinking lots of water though which is good. Will see how she goes for dinner!
my daughter is 8.5 at 1 yr she doesnt eat at all...be lucky if she gets grated cheese.....we are booked to see dietician and hopefully soon...i stopped feeding a few weeks ago but didnt make a difference and she only takes on formular she has just upgraded to 2 bottles a day which is a big thing for her.....so that is the only thing that is helping her to gain weight...so i know how you feel...i tell the doctor that she is anorixic cause thats wat it feels like..my son is also fussy but he will eat hard out one week and then can go a couple of weeks with just a banana for lunch.....kids are sooo strange :) good luck ...ill try and get dietician specialist either from doc (more relieable) or plunket
