Im a little confused about leaking waters and whether I need to be worried or not.

Sometimes, not all the time just on random days, I get discharge which is watery and smells quite strong, not badly maybe just like a vinegar sort of smell? I don't know how to describe it. It doesn't happen often, it's happened throughout my pregnancy and it's never enough to even need a pad or to soak through underwear or anything like that at all, just a small spot here and there. I don't think it's my bladder but it could be.

I have looked at other threads on this and on the internet and it seems a bit confusing. A lot of people say it's only a worry if it's trickling down your leg or soaking a pad, while others say different things about it.

Baby is kicking and I don't have any pain or anything.

I am going to the specialist tomorrow so I will ask then, but what I wanted to know is do I need to be concerned? Is some leakage normal and it's only when it's a lot that it's a concern? Or is it always bad?

Thanks for your help and sorry about TMI

It sounds like a normal increase in vaginal discharge during pregnancy to me, because of all the extra blood flow and hard work your body is doing it can have some interesting 'side effects' including being quite lubricated down there

If you get larger amounts of fluid though that are enough to soak your underwear or a pad, and have a bit of a sickly sweet smell then that's when I'd mention it to your specialist.

Your waters is kind of a bit thicker than water and it has a staw/semen kind of smell, its quite a distinct smell! I remember thinking when mine broke that they were totally different to how Id imagined them to be!
I had a lot of discharge during pregnancy as well and sometimes a lot of it where it would wet my knickers

Best thing to do is tell your MW, as they can test it to see if its your waters or something else.

sounds more like cervical mucous to me too....

It can become VERY thin, like water! I have actually had it running down my leg during this pregnancy (back when i though I could still get away with not wearing knickers around the house...)

When I spoke to my mw about it she said it is most likely mucous or urine or both but if I get a gush or it continues to trickle for a long period or I get symptoms of an infection (ie high temp etc) then to call her asap.
