Just so happy ...

He was at his carers and we joked that he should throw it in the bin, then it got dirty and we were like errr yucky... well he took a moment and then put it in the bin, so we left and I took him to get a lollie pop to say good boy - took a bit the first night of explaining and half anhour of crying and putting back to bed but he went to sleep woke a couple of time during night btu nothing major to get back to sleep.

Tonight - 10 minutes and he was asleep... lets see how it goess - there is no way thought that i am giving it back to him (I had spares)

His dummy was great and I am so pro dmmies but hes over 2years now so it was time to go

Hope it lasts for you guys

When we took C's away we cut a hole in it ,haha , sneaky sneaky .
Unfortunatley she found her thumb , and if you cut holes in thumbs people tend to get upset

woah triple posting there Kelly lol... I am wondering if rhylz will find his thumb as i went in before and he had it just in his mouth but not sucking on it - if he does he be getting the dummy back..

I tried the cutting hole in - he was not impressed and it was Hell so gave him another dummy LOL.. But this time when he asked for one I said I only had that one = and once again 'Not impressed!'

I probably did this on the worst week with Dh away for the week so glad its worked out ok so far - first couple of nights must be the worst aye??!!!

Its trying times getting rid of the dummy! We just cut a millimetre off each day for a few weeks till it became useless. Unfortunately she stopped all day sleeps at that time, she was 2, wish I'd kept it now lol

Rhyley doesn't have day sleeps anyhow - or at least its hit or miss if he does and its on ly on a weekend if he did. Cutting bits off didnt work for us though.

well this morning he woke at 6.30am normal if its that time - dummy goes in and he goes back to sleep till 8,.30am - not this morning though - so all Ican say is I am tired but its gotta get easier... on a good note he slept from 7.30pm till 6.30am with no wake ups for the dummy...

Congrats! We did it last year too and it was surprisingly easy. For me it was the mental block of getting rid of it - for DD she was happy to throw it out the car window (not really but I pretended to). We had no tears or anything that night. Yay!

They are a god send but when they gotta go they gotta go. I saw a girl of about 5 with one the other day, that is just wrong!

Rhylz still asks for it -more today. But keep reminding him he doesn't have one any more - he slept 7.30pm till 7.30am (woke at 6am but got him to go straight back to sleep) hoping he will go back to 8am wake ups Still a little cry befor ehe goes to sleep at bedtime but I am sure he will stop that within the week.

DH is back after been away (and dd camp) for a week so I am wondering if he will try it on since hes back tonight.
