Anyone been here before? Hannah is such a compliant child compared to Briona I'm trying to TT Briona, I'm sure she's ready for it, but oh the fuss every time something happens. "I do it Mum. Back soon, bye" - cracks me up. But when it's things like 'keep your legs down so the wees doesn't jump out' and 'would you like me to help get your nappy off?' gah! she takes forever! She wants to sit on the toilet but she likes her legs spread and she sometimes doesn't like wees stops 'interrupting' her playing with toys.

Something in me tells me to get the TT done asap because as she gets older, all of it is only gonna get worse....?

Any tips for survival? Nikkiwhyte?

I'll be watching this thread too. Jack has told me a couple of times wees and we have got him to the potty but will only do wees in it standing up. Any time I ask him he just says no.

My brother is had this trouble with his little girl a few months ago, she was more than capable of being TT but just didn't want to. She wanted to go horse riding like her brother does so they used that as an incentive, told her she couldn't go till out of nappies (which was true) and everytime she wouldn't use the potty they would remind her about the horse riding. She is now potty trained and is horse riding.
So perhaps there is something Hannah does that she would like to do and you could tell her that only big girls that use the loo (with their legs closed...lol) can do it.

hahaha

Yessss... TT a strong willed child.

Well, essentially with Hannah, she initiated most of it and then when I tried to run with it, she rebelled and refused.

Ermmmm... specifics, wees out the front of the toilet (yes, how DOES this happen!? no penis and it still makes a mess!! ) I just had to sit her as far back as possible and hope like hell it'd mostly go in. And kept a mop handy for frequent floor cleans. I think it was a balance thing, so alternatively I would hold her on the toilet so she didn't need to prop herself up, but that was only when she'd "let" me.

So yeah, she stopped wanting to go to the toilet when I asked and wasn't the best at climbing up herself... so I think I went back to the potty and had to wait until SHE decided she was ready to go wees or poos. Because at the hint of me suggesting anything remotely close to that possibility, she'd point blank refuse. But the trap with the potty is that she wanted to carry it to the toilet herself

Eventually she got big enough to climb up and sit properly on the toilet and FINALLY our toilet doesn't end up covered in wees. Trying to get her to wipe herself however... whooooole other battle.

Is this making any sense?!!?

Anyway, atleast you know you aren't alone.

P.S. Taking nappy off - I just left her without pants as much as possible. And yep, we had a whoooole bunch of accidents on the floor. Ah well.

I feel your pain Teresa.

We are currently toilet training miss Ayja.. the red-haired crazy stubborn child.

We too have the liking to have legs spread, we also have the "I need to go toilet" after having wet, also we have her trying to stop and take things wiht her to leave outside the door. It's like for goodness sake just GO!

just know that we are going through it at the same time.

Oh yes Nikki, except when out or sleeping, she has been in undies about 50% of this week. And has been so excited about them. But this morning when I asked if she wanted undies on or nappy on, she chose nappy. I guess (wet) undies interfere with her lifestyle ROFL

Finally got Amelia to actually wee in the potty today - first time. Yay. Hoping she's finally got the idea, instead of sitting on it with her nappy on (or off) and saying 'siss'!! and then hopping off and squatting on the floor and going.

Good luck ... to all of us by the sound of it!
Selina
