Topic: Chest harness for toddler? Posted: 29 July 2008 at 2:05pm |
Does anyone here use a chest or wrist harness for their toddler?
Our little one starts to run the minute her feet touch the ground and between losing her in crowds and her falling face first I'm thinking of getting one.
Where can they be bought?

I used a chest harness. I picked it up from baby factory. I think you can also get them from baby city and kmart. Plus there are some adorable things called "harness buddies" which you can find in kmart and they may still have them on trademe.

Thank you! Will keep an eye out.
Did you get any comments when using it?
I hear friends in SA got a bit of a reaction from people when they used theirs

Nope, no comments at all. Pity, I would have loved to have it out with the person unfortunate enough to try making negative comments on the safety measures I use. Maybe I give off a don't mess with me aura (all sweet and innocent 5 foot nothing of me)
The harness buddies are good if you want to avoid comments, they look just like little animal back packs.

I've been told by a few times that I come across as quite snobby when people first meet me, it's a mixture of shyness coupled with the fact I don't put up with sh*t. It works for me

i recently brought an animal backpack/reins for Ella from a seller on trade me. used it a couple of times and haven't had any negative comments (it does look really cute through). I started a thread a month ago asking where to get them from...I wil bump it up for you.

I have the TM monkey harness buddy but was not at all impressed with the quality so ended up getting one from Kmart. We get lots of comments from people but they are always about how cute it is

We have a standard one for Leah as well, I have only used once which was about 2 weeks ago when we were out looking at car yards, couldn't cope with holding her all the time. Nobody made any neg comments (well not that we heard anyway) but a lot of people said what a good idea it was as there were lots of people and vehicles - as you can imagine. Also Leah loved it, thought it was great to be able to walk, try to run, go around us in circles!! I'm pretty sure I was more exhausted than her at the end of the day, but that isn't hard at the moment!!
