Topic: cant quite put my finger on it Posted: 06 December 2007 at 1:29pm |
Rhiannon just isnt her usual bouncy self, she will run around for 30mins, then just lie down for 10mins, she has spent most the day on the couch today, or cuddled up with me, shes not interested in much, drinking plenty, not really hungry, doesnt want to go outside, doesnt want to sleep...she is hot to touch but no temp, she is only wearing a nappie and tshirt.
I cant help feeling there is something not quite right, i am seeing our family doctor tomorrow (to transfer files over) so will get him to give her a good checkup....oh and she wont let that blasted dummy go...she has had it constantly for the past 4 days.

yeah me too, our family doctor,(mum found him when my brother was 2mths old) so my family has been going to him for 30 yrs is really good...and because my family still go there, even though i live outside the area, i can transfer back, and i trust this doctor completely, and he is also one of the few baby doctors left (and even if hes not anymore) at least he will know what hes is talking about.
Rhiannon is currently running around, but its just aimless and her eyes are glassy, so i know there is something wrong, but because she is always happy i have to fight with doctors to get her checked, hence why im glad for the change of doctors tomorrow

Sounds very similar to how Charlotte was when she had Rotovirus. I really hope its not that for your sake! What about giving her some pamol to see how she goes?

Must be something in the water....I'm on domestic leave again today....Miss M threw up yesterday then seemed fine so we sent her off to day care today and next thing I get the call saying she has a temp and is lethargic...she's been pamoled and is out cold at the moment.
Poor sick bubbies.

Ollie had a tummy bug last week and he was very similar before he started vomitting (and later diarea (sp)). He is only just starting to get back to his old self, but still doesn't have the same levels of energy yet. I also think the heat is affecting him too because around 6pm (as it cools down), he seems to perk up a wee bit.
Hope the doc is able to shed some light on it

we have no vomiting or anything here, she wont take the pamol, which in itself is unusual as she would drink the stuff if i let her.
She is full of smiles but is very clingy and very glassy eyed...i just took her temp its was 36.8 so its normal...she is drinking plenty but has eaten basically nothing, nothing temps her.
Im more frustrated than anything cos i know that if she was properly sick with vomiting etc i would have more patience but becasue she is smiling and running around all be it inbetween spending time on the couch i get frustrated cos she is so clingy

well took rhiannon to the dctrs, Yahhh i love my family doctor, anyway rhiannon has a slight temp, and he said tht its always lower during the day...she has a upper respitory (sp) viral infection, so there isnt anything he can give her, and it will take 5-7 days to come right...i so knew there was something wrong...anyways she is staying at mums overnight so i can get some sleep, as the combination of having my bp meds increased and rhiannon not sleeping im so tired i can bearly function...on the upside though, bp is in the normal range and the side effects should only last another couple of days and then my system should be use to it...wooohoo
