(This normally co-incides with us being away from home, and ending up paying for an A&E visit to get it done....like the time in Port Douglas that cost us $400 - but we got it back on insurance phew?!?) He gets completely blocked up and the only thing that helps is syringing. But before they get totally blocked his hearing gradually gets worse and worse...to the point that once they are done he asks me not to shout!!!

Would be worth getting them checked - could be something really simple.

I had my ears cleaned out about 4 years ago and it worked fantastically! Alas my hearing has deteriorated again. I think I should get mine checked too. I've ignored it for a few years, but I think it might be getting worse.

It's not that I think I'm going deaf or anything, but I struggle to hear low tones - most especially, male voices. I usually end up asking them to repeat themselves two or three times until they speak very clearly, or else it just sounds to me like mwah mwah mwah mwah I can hear the voice, but I struggle to identify words. Add an accent in there and I'm screwed. It's almost like my ears can't keep up with what they're hearing.

Does this sound normal to you guys? It's quite tiring having to concentrate so hard.
