I've had 3 hospital admissions due to dehydration. I tried to go back to work last week, but ended up getting sent home. I suffer from dizzy spells, with the low BP etc...Basically I have been housebound for the last 6 weeks. I haven't been able to do anything. If I do I just end up vomiting or nearly fainting. I have lost weight at don't have an ounce of energy. Showering is a BIG mission. I never knew this could be so debilitating. Anyway I'm def off work for the next 2 weeks and will have to see how things go. There's no signs of it dying down yet. I have no sick leave left, and barely any AL, so it is all unpaid. Everytime I ring the boss it goes ok. I suppose they have no choice if I physically can't work. I will reduce my hours when I do go back and ease my way back into it. I have already told work and they said that's ffine. The joys of being pregnant!

I guess what I'm saying is don't use the 10 days lightly as you never know when you really might need them (and yes, working with a headache is the worse)

It hard cos Im in a reception job and I have to answer the phone and stuff and sometimes I just dont feel like being friendly when Im feeling awful. On Friday at work I got growled at in front of everyone by a lady at my work(the bosses wife) who is usually really nice to me, for not loading the dishwasher! I was SO over it by then and I burst into tears and told my supervisor/boss and she was ok about it but didnt say she was going to talk to the lady about it! Makes me mad it does!

I know that your employer has to allow for antenatal vistis and scans etc but does that include pregnancy related illness?
Its just that my work dont seem very....understanding when it comes to me feeling like crap, one of my bosses(Male!!) told me(when I went home early one day) that I cant keep doing this until December when I start maternity leave...I didnt think that was very fair when I was feeling awful, I had a wicked headcold plus being pregnant, not a fun combination, he kept telling me to take vitamins but ya sometimes that dont help!
