Krystiana would settle in her cot - and not many other places - at 6 weeks, so she was clearly aware of her surroundings etc.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=10411">caraMel</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 8047<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 06 June 2007 at 10:47am<br /><br />Total hammock fan here!<br />We used ours for both babies and it helped settle them so well.<br />Contrary to common opinion, they actually do have good back support in there, the pure wool mattress is virtually the same as the ones you'd find in a bassinette and the hammock&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;supports the natural curve of baby's spine. Plus, as Anna said, it is more comforting for baby to be cocooned in there as it mimicks the womb (Hubby's Grandma was <strong>very</strong> concerned about the same thing so I found all this info to calm her down!)<br />I found that the bouncing/swinging was great for settling bub when they stirred as well, a bit like being rocked. I am not sure I would be so concerned about back support for bub, they have just spent the last nine months squished up, seems like it could be quite comforting for them. Plus you get the added bonus of that rocking, swinging feeling for helping them to settle!]]>

Just like we need back support Im sure a baby does too (We we would surely get a sore back sleeping on a hammock every night).
