You definately don't need people saying that to you. when i had the girls we put everything on layby at 8 week with paris, and i bought constantly from day dot with Ayja. I didn't with this one, i just would see things and think "nope, I'll buy that some other time" weird. but still i found it so ick for people to say that, and while now i see why they did, if anyone said that to me again i would probably sock em. lol. sure we all know the risks and yeah till we become one of the unlucky ones to experience there is some naivety.. but still, to actually say that, is just not ok.

And I remember my doctor saying when I was about 9 weeks pregnant with Maya that "sometimes miscarriage is inevitable." Really reassuring that was!

With the gremlins they were too far the other way. To be fair to them, she may not have meant it like that. The other reason why you are often told to wait is because of the warrenties on items...if something has a 1 year warranty and you are buying with 8 months of pregnancy or more to go you won't actually have much cover once you start using the item.

I can imagine your frustration though.

Hubby and I were looking at prams in Baby City today, cos I like to be organised and then if our parents offer to buy something, we can tell them exactly the pram that will suit our needs. And plus we're excited about being pregnant, so we like just going to look at stuff lol.

So we asked the girl in the shop to show us how one of the prams folded down (you know, being informed about what pram will be good for us!), and while she did she said "Well you are in your first trimester, so you do know it's recommended you wait until buying big items".



Yeah thanks lady, for pretty much warning me of the immanent death of my baby!!

I know some of the other ladies in early pregnancy have had things like that said to them too, which kind of puts a downer on things. Of course the worst is ALWAYS in the back of our mind, we don't need other people to remind us!
