Well I'm glad Hannah isn't the only one who has decided she isn't a baby anymore.
She started crawling yesterday too so we are obviously moving up in the world!!!

Muffins might be a good idea, though I'm the same and Hannah will probably be living on vegemite toast until she is old enough to make her own food! (Lots of vitamins in vegemite, right?! hehe)

I'm going to give the pasta thing a go soon, that doesn't sound too difficult! She's started getting the hang of spitting out food that is to big to swallow so she isn't gagging so much. Altho that makes for a lot more food on the floor! Will definitely have to invest in a plastic sheet.

Thanks for your suggestions guys!

Jake has decided that he will feed himself the bottle, thyank you very much! At daycare the ladies tell me he turns his nose up at the baby food and goes straight for the big kids stuff!I got him a sippy cup, and he likes using that. and shaking it. all over the floor. As for finger food, vegemite on toast is my favourite for him too. I also plan to make muffins and natural chicken nuggets.....plan to. So he mostly eats toast.

And yes, 18 mths on and she is still a bossy, independent little monkey. But I try to look on the bright side - in an adult independence and ambition are good things. That's if she can survive being two...

She has one to help and you have one for actual feeding. If you havent got one already I recommend a plastic sheet under the high chair as things can get VERY messy!!
Have you tried banana and things like cooked pasta, peas and potatoes??

She absolutely refuses to eat when I try to spoon feed her, yet is perfectly happy to feed herself! I've been giving her finger foods but she hasn't got the full idea about swallowing yet and bites off pieces too big and gags on them. (and my ideas are a bit short on softish finger food... she's probably getting sick of marmite toast right about now)

Do many babies do this at around 7 months or is this indicative of a very independent, head strong child? (Please no!!! )
Or does anyone have any ideas to get her to eat again, or things that I can feed her without her choking!

Thanks
