Hi Mellybelly - sorry, I only just saw this topic...

I decided to go private on a Friday and started treatment the following Monday! I think alot of that was luck and good timing, and we'd already had all the necessary tests.

And as for when we can start Private IVF - Dr F said that once we decide to go private it would be up to about 6 weeks before we got everything up and running.

Also, Lou is correct in another post saying going private & getting pregnant doesn't effect your chances of being on the public waitlist. It's the start of the next cycle from my understanding. So, if you've got say 2 weeks to run on this cycle, I guess you can start in 2 weeks!

Check with Lou though ...she'll actually know!
