In the Uk they found that a large number of bab\ies would go to sleep when various soaps like Eastenders came on. They worked out that often this was the down time for the mother - mum would stop, put her feet up and watch the soap, whcih meant that her body was relaxed, plus she would enjoy it. I heard about someone who played classical music to their belly all the time because they heard it makes children smart and when the child was about 3 they played it again and he screamed when they asked what was wrong he said it reminds him of the dark

I have been playing music to the bump. Not sure about reading the same book over and over. I did when I was pregnant with Maya. I had real issues believing the gremlins were actually going to be born so I didn't read to them, altho I did have a doppler so listening to their heart beats was my 'bonding' time.

DH talked to "peanut" loads when I was preg, and used to read books to her too. Who reads or has read to their belly? My DH read to mine last night as we read somewhere that if you read the same book alot during pregnancy, it will be bubs favourite book when he/she enters the world. We read that it can help with feeding if the book is read to the baby while being fed.

Just interested to know if anyone has found this to be true?

Did you feel silly reading to your belly. DH was a little bit but got over it and read the whole book and used different voices for different caracters.
