You shouldnt need to go and buy a new cot!

In my experience, (although trying for bub #1, have been a nanny for 4-5yrs) Baby for some unexplainable reason sleeps better on a foam mattress, and believe me, most of my nanny kids had colic, and for powerchucks, you can sponge clean a foamy far easier than an innnersprung!

They are easier to move if needed too (for when those dummies fall down awkwardly in the cracks...never can fit your hand in can you?)

All in all though, go with what suits you best, but this is just my two cents.

It's bigger.Most are 680 or 700 wide, this one needs to be 750.

I've found a place in the yellow pages that makes spring ones made to measure, so they are doing a quote for me.

we are using a foam mattress to in our cot (we used for haleigh and will be using for number 2) and haleighs single bed has a foam matress on it aswell she prefers the foam to the innersprung (also she jumps up and down on innersprungs).
we have had no issues at all, we jsut got ours from the warehouse, but we also got our cot and single bed from the warehouse, so we bought them all together.

We havea foam one and have had no problems with it at all.

When I was looking at mattresses the lady in Farmers here in Palmy told me I would be wasting my money on a foam one as the inner sprung one is so much better and most people she has sold a foam mattress to have come back to get the inner sprung. We didn't and have no intention of either.

However for a single bed I think inner sprung is so much better.

I obviously have no advice as I am not yet a Mum, but personally I am going with an inner sprung mattress as I feel they provide better support.

Probably a stupid question, but have you tired every possible baby place for different sizes??? I have gone and bought a cot off TM and now I can't seem to find a spring mattress to fit it It's an Australian brand............hmmmmmmmmm.

Anyway, can you ladies give me some advice as to what foam mattress's are like (I can have one specially made to fit by Baby City).
