I had a friend whose response when I told him I was pregnant with Alex was 'oh did you do that to keep Jason'(DF) I was so pissed off as he knew that our relationship was good and that I would never do that anyway. This time round when I told him we were trying for number 2 he replied 'does Jason know' God I could have hit him!! I have a friend who didn't congratulate me, and she was the first one I confided in & told her I might be "surprisingly" pregnant with #3. She just said "oh really", no happy "wow congrats". She was pregnant herself with #2, so I was thinking maybe she might've been a little peeved she wasn't going to get all the attention from me anymore. I don't know, I just think when anyone's pregnant it's always exciting so am ALWAYS happy for whoever it maybe!! (Ok, but maybe that doesn't apply to myself )

Congrats MeganGrace I have a few friends who are aged between 28 & 33 who don't have littlies yet.. I know for a fact that they all hope that it will happen sooner rather than later. One thing I've noticed is at 29 they all start to get really anxious about turning 30 & not having a baby yet or even looking anywhere near it. They start to ponder where there life is heading etc etc.. Clock really starts to tick for many at this age. Some people fear they will lose the relationship they shared with their friend or loved one once baby comes along.. Your sis will be quietly happy but feeling wee bit sad for herself at the mo.. She'll come round, it'll just be hard for her at the time being. She's not reacting - because her feelings are getting in the way. Not because she doesn't care

My wee boy is due 12/08/2007

you might find she is struggling with the whole you have a life and she doesnt. Its hard getting to that age and not being settled if that makes sense. I never got a congratulations from my MIL. All she said was 'You'll have to decide whether to adopt it out once it's born', oh and 'You just have to face the fact that you and your mother might have to do this on your own'.

MeganGrace, my in laws were like that when we told them I was pregnant with my first. We were married or even engaged and all she could say was S and A (B and S in law) are meant to have a child first they are married (well not anymore). And then I got but you can't have children (I have PCOS and quite bad endo). Talk about a kick in the guts after finding out great news. However once he was here she just loves him, and when we told them I was pregnant with Josh they were really happy. Maybe she is TTC? Or isn't keen on children? Or was just heavily thought-absorbed for something unrelated?

My younger sister (18mos younger) was rather blaze, now she hardly looks at my babies. She only seems to ever say smart (sarcastic) remarks and tell me about how her DH generally finds kids quite cute but doesn't really find ours cute... gee thanks

I think her biggest prob is that deep down she would like to have a baby, her DH isn't so sure but they did TTC for a year-ish to no avail. They don't want to go down the whole specialist or adoption track so are just leaving it at that... may never have children. after we told our parents we were expecting I told my sisters and brother my brother and oldest and youngest sister offered their congratulations but not my younger sister.

she just asked how many weeks I am ...hmm at least pretend to be excited..I mean everyone else I have told have said congratulations.
