hi all..thanks so much for all the posts...

well we are home now...Gabriella is having cuddles with grannie so thought i would pop on here...

she isdoing really well...update in march thread. I am hoping to sleep tonight...those single beds arent the best...

the midwives are ok..but the night one the other night was a witch...had a lovely one last nite and was told to go in the spare room to watch the firewords - so i did...LOL!!! Gabriella slept thru the whole banging etc...

Will post more photos soon...i rely on DH to upload to mu puter so i can access...hint hint!!!

we have had visitors all afternoon today...but should be quiet tomorrow..midwife coming to weigh her...and Grannie is home for next two days with me then DH for three...so should be ok!!!

I wouldn't be so sure about that BSDH ...

About 4 years ago my DH fell through our deck, and, among other things, did his knee in (it was v. v. messy!) ...so I bundled him in the car and took him to the hospital. Over the course of about an hour, while he was sitting in a corridor waiting to be seen, his knee blew up to epic proportions, and I demanded an ice pack from every passing nurse for about a half hour ...before I got tired of that, and gently suggested they might like to get onto my request (in the true nature of gingers, I have a wee bit of a fuse).

Anyway! Shortly thereafter, a nurse came scuttling back with an 'ice pack'. 4 cubs of ice in a plastic bag. I kid you not!!

So, I blew a further valve, and drove home again to retrieve our *actual* ice pack out of the freezer, and then went back to the hospital again to administer First Aid to my husband.

Yeesh!

So, I wouldn't consider yourself safe *just* because you're in a hospital BSDH!!

I found the midwives there OK when I was preg, but have heard there are some dinosaurs hiding out in the postnatal wards...

Glad to hear BBS had a good first night - hope that means that MBS (Mummy Bombshell) had a good night too!

Am going to try and get up to visit in a day or so... Congrats!!!!! She is so cute :) and i LOVE the name.
The midwifes up there are not so nice bar only a few. My friend has been up there for a few nights now and was too scared to ask for pain relief last night as the "bitch" was on till 11pm, thats just not on!!!

Update: Well Gabriella has had her first night in the real world BS has just rang and say's the BBS(Baby Bombshell)has had a good sleep nearly 5 hours straight...Yippee maybe I won't have to go and live on the boat in the Marina after all!!!!

We are onto our fourth nappy BS say's BBS farts like her Daddy?? I'm not sure what she means by that I don't fart! Cheeky cow!

Still not liking the midwives at National womens BS wasn't to happy with the one she's had looking after her through the night....(They're old cronies! National womens maybe you should be reading this and fix the problem)

Yay you must be such a proud daddy! Keep on cuddling that DD (darling daughter), shemay also settle easier on you because you can walk around etc... but she will already know your voice (unless BS does all the talking at your place ).

Tell Bombshell to not worry about asking the nurses for help with anything at all, even getting her toast at midnight! I had a c/s with my first baby and I felt bad for asking for so much "minor" help all the time but now that I've had 3 kids, I look back and wish I had asked for more... especially because I was so hungry between meals and couldn't walk to (and didn't know about) the toaster just down the corridor from my room!

nah, the c/s may be late she was saying. Then 1/2 hr+, the another 1/2 hr in recovery following which she'll be exhausted... so I'd say they have baby 3pm and she's back on around 4.30 (but I bet her DH will be on before her
