I would go for a c/s if I were you. I may have to have a c section because there was alot of damage to my pelvic floor when I had Jacob that took a long long time to heal, and still isn't healed properley. I'm not too bothered either way, really, as long as we are both healthy and safe.

In answer to the other question (why we will both get "fixed"..)Rod has very very good swimmers, and I'm not taking ANY chances! His idea!

I did think a little about the age gap thing between us, and the what if something happens to my baby thing. I'm almost 32, and I just can't see myself wanting to go through this again if something happened to Rod.(said as I am sitting here with a chest, ear and sinus infection and I am allergic to the antibiotics preggie ladies are allowed to have..) As for the "if something happens"... Well, I would just have to cross that bridge if I was unlucky enough to come across it. After  we have another one which we will be ttc after xmas i will be telling them to tie my tubes to (i have to have another ceaser) i have had so much trouble with birth control  and it will be free to have it to So i say go for it if you no what you want than that is all that matters

I thought about it and when I didn't know I was having CS I was always saying I get them to tie my tube (I only have one) when reality set in that hey I am having a CS I didn't want to think about getting it tied even though I am adimant this is my last baby. Thoughts of what if this baby dies would I want another one? I at first said to hubby becuase I am older and if anythin happens to him I would not go on to have any more children but he is 29 (i am 34) that if I died tomorrow I would hope he would go on to find love again and they might want kids so unfair for him to get the snip. Now that i KNOW THE snip is reversable we discussed him doing it...

If my next baby is a Boy and I end up needing a C Section (lets hope not)...then I would want my tubes tied too. hi,
My sil has just recently had her tubes tyed even though she is only 23 - shes had 3 pregnancies, almost died at each birth, had 3 CS, had PND with all pregnancies and has had cancer before so now has a blood problem and she thinks its the best decision ever as it is whats best for everyone including her kids who are all under the age of 3!!
She has had to come to grips with the thought of never having anymore kids but she still doesnt regret it.

Was just about to ask the same, if it's not prying. My older sis had a tubal ligation and shes 35, she's only had 2 kiddies, I think these days it's actually a heck of alot easier to get thingsl ike that done than you think. She had no probs. Wow, you would be REALLY unlucky to get preggy once you're both "been to the vet"! Obviously I havent had one but just wanted to say that I know several people who have had it done and they've had no probs. ok, so I talked to my midwife today about having my tubes tied, and she is getting me an appointment with the gyno. I may need to have a c section, which is why I really needed to bring up that I wanted a tubal, and they will hopefully fix my bladder at the same time...

So, why I am starting this thread is I would like to hear anyone elses thoughts/experiences of tubal ligation.

It won't be a problem as I am 32 in march, have had 3 preganacies, the 2 most recent have been plagued with problems, the first probably would have been as well and a long history of mental illness, I suffer from depression, borderline personality disprder and anxiety. (a right nut job!)

Just to stem off any helpful comments, YES, I have thought about it long and hard, YES I am absolutely sure this is what I want to do. I am unable to use hormonal contraceptive because of my mental health issues, and I really don't trust anything else. Rod is getting the snip as well.
