Author: Olive10
Subject: 46725
Posted: 08 February 2018 at 6:39pm

So hubby and I just found out 3 days ago that I'm pregnant with our second! *woop woop*

I had a c-section with my first (in South Africa) by recommendation of my OB. X-rays revealed I was quite small and he was worried baby wouldn't fit. I was fine with the decision, and I had a great recovery, barely any pain.

I would like to go for an elective c-section for my second, but how do I even start? The NZ LMC midwife system is throwing me off and I'm so confused. I would prefer to have an OB than a midwife - but is the OB still funded by the health system? Will the c-section be funded by the health system?

Anyone have any experience with this?

I live in Kumeu (North West) - but would probably look to go to North Shore Hospital.
