At times I think bugger it, people eat this stuff either in the past or in other parts of the world (hello - sushi - what else would they eat in Japan if cold rice was a nono!)

Then I stop and think, what if I was that unlucky percentage - how would I feel? So for the msot part, I grit my teeth and bear it, knowing that every month is a month closer to eating what I want!

In fact all smoked food is out eg smoked chicken. The smoking process never heats up the food to a high enough temp so it's not really cooked. You can of course heat up the smoked salmon but it changes the taste so it's not really the same thing.

Can't help with the ham - sorry. I know that cold ham is out but I guess if's cooked & hot it should be ok. After all cooked pork is ok and ham = pork.

My last pregnancy I ate ham off the bone and had no problems. Another thing to consider is who cooked it then decide if you want to eat it, or where it has been stored if its cold. When I ate the ham my MIL had cooked it and I eat most of her cooking. In saying that I have thrown up at her place after eating dinner but I had been feeling sick all day so it wasn't her cooking. We still make jokes about it to this day.
