HI there, my 2nd daughter grew a giant strawberry birthmark on her neck, so different from yours, however the same dr treats different kinds. If you can try get to see Dr Swee Tan at Hutt Hospital, he is awesome, Jazi had her's cut off at 8months old, however for Your type there was a medication that other babies were using to make them go away. Im not sure where you are located, but all our travel to Wellington was paid for. hope this helps even a tiny bit. Hi everyone,

Im hoping to hear from someone who either knows someone or has gone through the similar situation.
Our little girl was born with a very big birth mark on half of her face ( said to be a port wine birthmark)
Ofcourse there is an associated syndrome that can often be linked to such birthmarks- Sturge Weber syndrome, and we yet have to go to the MRI and vision tests with the specialists to rule it out.
However with the birthmark we are interested in Laser treatment to treat it as and when needed.
Any info on the above from personal or someone elses experience will be really appreciated.
We are quite confident it is just the birthmark that needs to be dealt with, as she seems to be a very healthy strong girl with no signs of Sturge Weber Syndrome. But ofcourse will wait for the referral to be very certain for the piece of mind.
