Hi ladies,

Just needing your advice on something.

Last week at my 36 week OB appointment they did a scan and my gorgeous boy is still breech, so they booked me in for a elective c section on my 38th week - 37 Weeks on Wednesday.

My midwife and friends and Ob say that there is a small chance but highly doubt that he will turn before I have the c section.

From the scan, he is already 8lb6oz so im thinking he might be too big to turn and his bottom is really low, so have the bowling ball feeling between legs. I can feel his head up high, so hard compared to the rest of my belly and when i lie down thats pretty much what you can see a big bulge where his head is.

What are your opinions on him turning?

I would love to access the private forum if possible? In a kind of odd situation re: friends. None of my friends (or my partner's) are having babies yet as we are only 21 but middle class and in central Wellington. Havent been on in awhile! Just had our baby shower in Sydney which was nice since all my friends and family are there! Saw my midwife 2 weeks ago and she thinks i'm 4 weeks bigger than what i should be which is abit scary. Fingers crossed the little one slows down soon!

lisaandkid I am based in Johnsonville :) Welly is great ay, moving back home to Blen mid may however with my house being there and family and friends etc. my DP is there already working :( so haven't seen him now in over a week. Zarina: you've come to the right spot for asking questions! The ladies in the forum are lovely :)

At this stage I'm due 15th July. Our little girl is growing alittle too big too fast, so my midwife suggested i reduce my sugar intake - as long as i wasn't craving it. Apparently sugar is like a growth booster for babies! While i've always been quite small, my husband's family have a history of big babies...all have been over 10 pounds, with our nephew weighing in at 12 pounds at 4 weeks early...

I have relatively low blood pressure too, noticed it a bit in first tri but totally fine now. Actually forgot to ask on the post before is anyone or has anyone suffered from really low blood pressure before is there anything you did for it I have been told by midwife and msg ppl you can't do anything just lie down so you don't get hurt or baby get hurt. It's actually normally low but of course with pregnancy it's crazy low and feel so dizzy all the time :( must be this really hot weather too ;(

Hi Ladies :)

New to forums and equally as new to NZ having moved to Wellington from Sydney.

Expecting our first baby in July. My midwife, GP and Sonographer(?) are debating the exact date since we don't have a LMP to calculate from and after 5 ultrasounds they are saying it could be anywhere between start of july to end of july.

Also - my husband's side of the family seem to have a history of delivering big babies...with my sister in law delivering a 12 pounder while my husband was also a 10 pounder.

Lots to look forward to...maybe hahaha

Hello everyone!

It's great to read about other women who are due to become first-time mums in July - I'm in that boat too (although, of course, equal congrats are due to you mums who are having second or third etc. babies!).

My partner and I were certainly not trying - in fact we were trying not to. We are young, 20 and 21. The pregnancy we had thought impossible was very surprising indeed and took us a deal of time to accept. However, as a wise Ethiopian taxi driver told me, a child is always a blessing. We have enough money to live by and we aren't substance abusers or psychopaths. We are confident now that we can raise this beautiful baby as well as anyone else could and we are VERY excited! We saw him/her at the NT scan and s/he was absolutely perfect and bouncing around. Can't wait to find out the sex in a month's time.

Hi ladies, I am due on the 11th of July with my first baby. DH and I are very excited. We are having a boy. So far has been a roller coaster with high 1st trimester screening results 1 in 10, so I have had a cvs done 2 weeks ago now hence I already know I am having a boy. Hey there...I think I've been a bit in denial about being pregnant...but I definitely am!! This will be my 2nd baby (my first is just 10months). I am due 22 July and have had scan and just seen midwife today and everything is all good so that's a big relief.

How are you all feeling ladies? I had a midwife appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again, it is so reassuring isn't it?? esp. as there are no definate noticeable movements yet, I am sure i am feeling teeny flutters at times but not very often. Hey Kashmir, thanks so much for that info, definitely made interesting reading. My mother in law is a homeopath so might have a chat to her about a few 'remedies'. Was talking to a friend the other day, one of the most down to earth unflappable people I know and she admitted to having issues with teariness as well, made me feel a lot better knowing I wasn't the only one! :-)

Anna hope you had a great break in Blenheim :-) As for movement, I'm only just 12 weeks and I swear I've had a few wee 'flutters', but as its my first pregnancy I can't be sure. I know a friend of mine had definite movement well before 15 weeks (her second pregnancy).

Hi everyone!!
Back to Wellington after a 3 week break back home in Blenheim, so haven't been on here for ages. Great to hear everyones scans went really well and that news was shared over christmas! And now ladies we are having our babies THIS YEAR!!! soo excited. Welcome newbies and congrats to you!!
Heard babies heartbeat for first time over a week ago, so awesome, esp. at this stage when the awful 12 weeks have passed, feeling 100 times better and sometimes 'forget' i am pregnant as feel so 'fine' so knowing things are all ok was reassuring. Have a Blenheim midwife now as moving back mid may. Seeing my Wellington one this Friday so guess can hear it again :)
Has anyone felt anything yet? like slight flutters/butterfly feeling?? My friend swears she did from 11.5 weeks which is super early!! i thought i was like a week ago but now nothing so who knows. Apparently common from 16 weeks? any mums already know much about this?
Arrghhh the hormones, tell me about it, so hard when the water works turn on so much more easily!! i found myself crying at the most rediculous things, now have it a lot more together i guess but i get a bit more grumpy more easily i think!!

Hi everyone, I'm Penny, I'll be 12 weeks on saturday (yay!) due 27th July and first scan on monday, which is great as I've been hanging out for it :-)

Hi ladies! I haven't been on for a while with the hype of finishing work and then Christmas. We are 12 weeks today and had our 12 week scan this morning. All is looking great and baby is just divinely cute!! We told my parents really on and then DP's parents at 10 weeks. We broke the news to the rest of our family and close friends on Christmas day and then made it "facebook official" today. So the word is now out!! I would love to be a part of the private forum. Glad to hear Anna! Bubba was jumping around and moving about! strong heartbeat and measured 11 weeks 6 days but I am actually only 11 weeks 4 days. so due July 8th still. Hi Anna,

Thanks for sharing. Good to know you are also going through the same. My midwife also said that same and honestly I really want to tell my parents. I havent told them even as last one ended in a miscarriage.

I think I will go with the flow and tell my family next Friday after the scan and leave the rest to God and fate.

You must be so excited about tomorrow. Goodluck and here's hoping all of us a healthy pregnancy.

Hi all... Hi Nikkie, I was feeling exactly the same as you, its a particularly hard time for all of us because its christmas time!!! which is such an ideal time to share happy news :) I have my 12 week scan tomorrow (officially 12 weeks Dec. 22nd) and have decided that if all is well n good at the scan I am just going to tell everyone :) I have had this a secret since finding out at 4.5 weeks long and it has been the longggessstttt time of my life!! A few ppl know (my parents, DPs sister etc) but majority of ppl no. I felt a bit more secure after talking to my midwife and she said in her entire career she has only had one person at high risk after results, she had further tests and everything fine... So I am just going to hope and pray that all is good :) As over this period too results prob. will take ages to get back to us! hope this helps a bit but on the other hand, if you want to wait for peace of mind, think of it as you have waited so long anyway whats a few more weeks?

Hi Everyone,

I am having my Nuchal Scan next week at 12.1 weeks and while I am excited to come so close to completing 12 weeks, am a litte worried about my Nuchal scan. WE still havent told our parents yet as were waiting for 3 months to get completed.

Now I am confused if I should tell them after 12 weeks scan or wait to see my Nuchal scan results which may take a further of two weeks. Anyone who has recnetly done this scan can please advise.

Hi ladies, I am almost 12 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby. Very excited we have our 1st scan next week. its a bummer my DP cant come to it as our worker will be on holidays and the scan is a 2 hour drive away. I am due 5th July! Seems so far away! Nausea is starting to go away thank goodness still throwing up a few times a day but I can handle that.

Hi! Thanks Anna. I am 10 weeks today and had another scan yesterday which showed a happy, healthy baby. I could see it's head and legs and arms and it was waving at me and kicking it's little legs like crazy. Has a great heartbeat and I got a wonderful pic which I will use in Chrissy cards to tell people we are having a baby. Am feeling pretty good now most of the time but by mid afternoon I am knackered and by bed time exhausted and rather grumpy! Feeling rather sorry for DP as I just do not like being cuddled when I go to bed at the moment! I am really struggling through the days at the moment - im just so tired, bloated, heavy & sore b00bs and feeling so nauseous. I seem to be a lot worse in the evenings so have been getting home from work and not moving from the couch until bed time. Poor hubby I have been so moody :(
Im just hoping that in a couple of weeks time I will be feeling a bit better so that I can enjoy the christmas celebrations.

Yeah I tried my normal running when I suspected I was pregnant but hadn't been to the doc yet and got all fainty and ran out of breath - that was not usual! Swimming and yoga didn't keep me toned, but it probably saved my body looking worse than it would have. I decided that my body would just have to sacrifice its shape for a year or so for the babys sake. I think after this baby I'll get a personal trainer and go hard for a few months before going back to a normal esercise routine. My midwife kept telling me that rest was the best thing, and not to over exercise, but that light exercise was good throughout pregnancy. Swimming made me feel good, and yoga helped get me relaxed, and the instructor taught us how to relieve those discomforts that come in later pregnancy with sore hips, bums etc which stop a good nights sleep. Haha it was my first experience today chchjem and it just made me GRUMPY! lol. in a way wish it was winter so could hide in baggy comfy clothes! but at least when we are at our biggest it will be :) thats good you cycle every day! i def. need to do more. Hi, glad to hear that for some of you there are days when evil morning sickness has loosened its grip and that you don't feel pregnant, I'm at 8 weeks tomorrow and am so looking forward to morning sickness easing off. Hopefully it will have by Christmas day. A day where food tastes norma and my stomach was still would be great:-).
On my things to do list is aqua aerobics and yoga but I haven't looked into yet. I cycle every day and I really am not looking forward to the day when I will need to stop that. Have not thought about jogging but would have to invest in a new bra I think. Half of my bras don't fit now and I also miss my skinny jeans. Hi LouLou - thanks for that! yes I have done a little online shopping, its brilliant!! I haven't tried aqua aerobics but would love to..and just to start up swimming n generl :) did u do special pregnancy yoga? or just do normal yoga and not do certain things? Did you find it helped u to stay in better shape through your pregnancy/toned etc?? Yes my partner has been telling me that about running, I have got out of the habit of running now (haven't run since finding out I was preg! so for 6 weeks!) and finding it a little hard as I was very much into running and gym and now I am noticing my body change so much! trying not to care but its a little hard... oh that sounds tiring Anna :( perhaps try online Chrissy shopping? I did that last year since I had a 3 month old, and was fabulous! Plus I got the joy of receiving all the gifts in the post before wrapping them up, so was really like someone was sending me heaps of pressies haha.

Have you tried aqua aerobics? I loved it with my first pregnancy and will start that up again soon. Also at about 20 weeks I started yoga weekly which was wonderful, not just for your body, but great breathing and relaxation techniques for coping with labour - was much more helpful than what we learnt at ante natal classes. Hi everyone! how are we all feeling and getting on? just wishing it was the christmas break like NOW! i am! i feel like there is so many things to 'get through' before then (life seems so much more effortful while preg! haha). Tomorrow have a work party for the children (I work for PORSE) which is 930-12 at a beach so tiring plus! i am in charge of one of the activities, then have my DP work party Friday night which is away from Welly for the night, his workmates dont know but think we will have to tell them, and then more christmas shopping! all i want to do is stay in bed until christmas and 12 week mark hehehe. I know I just have to get on but argh, i am so unbothered and unmotivated at present. Have already put on a bit of weight, I would say 3-4 kg!!! eek. oh don't worry about the bump, that's not a baby bump yet - I think not til about 4 months til something is noticeable - unfortunately it's just bloating right now :) It will go down once you start to feel better, then up again when your uterus pops out of your pelvis. From my experience, and those of my friends who have had babies anyway.

Hi 1st time mum 2B! how far along are you now?? I wouldn't worry too much... I have the same thing, somedays more bloated than others and tend to b at end of day and now in the morning hardly at all, I think it depends on what you eat the night before/drunk etc. maybe also? And maybe at the start I was on more of a look out for a bump in the mornings (esp with feeling worse) so it seemed bigger? now i can tell a lot more clearly. I have days, mainly moments that I dont feel preg. at all, i am 10.5 weeks tomorrow and after about 9.5-10 week mark feel like i have wayyy more energy, nearly back to myself but then mid arvo hit with the tired, a bit blah, want certain foods thing - wayyy better than what was, and its funny, i am glad but then at same time hope everythings ok!! its strange huh. Hi ladies. I have finally got my midwife. Yippee!I studied midwifery a few years back and the lady I have chosen was my closest friend in my class. I told her way back then that I wanted her to deliver my babies when the time comes and even though we haven't seen each other for 7 or 8 years, she is super excited to be my midwife. Seeing her for the first time on Wednesday. Can't wait!! :) It's weird - this last few days, I haven't really felt pregnant at all. When I get up in the morning now my tummy is nearly flat where as before I had a little bump (could have been bloating) also I have had no more morning sickness and have been back to normal with my eating. Am kind of worried that I feel so good. I did another urine pregnancy test last night as wanted to see a nice strong positive - but the line was a bit faint, not as dark as the control line. . .should I be worried? Phew! I've been trying to login to this forum for weeks!!! I'm due on 11 July, with first baby - and totally get the whole just feeling tired and bleurgh and not feeling pregnant bit. Am nine weeks along and just starting to feel better after the last four weeks of nausea.

i talked with the doctor and he gave me a few names but they were all gone so dont know wether to just go through the phonebook bit lost now lol. Congratulations to the new mums! Good to see some others who aren't due till late July - I'm sooo jealous that some of you have their 12 weeks scan soon! Awesome!
It also makes it harder that thanks to the DHB of my region I don't get a scan before 12 weeks, so don't even know till then if everything's alright. Gutting. All the more reason not to tell anyone before then, though. I feel the same, Jem! So weird. Good to hear it's normal.

Its kinda strange but I dont really feel pregnant! I am sick, weird with food and tired sooooo sooo tired and have my prego symptoms but I just cant get my head around the fact that Im pregnant.
