Congrats, shellgirl!

Neither did I have itchy feet, it was only the palms of my hands that really started to itch while I was in the hospital waiting to be induced, and yet I'd had the cholestasis for a few days, if not a week already...

AnsCsmum, with my first pregnancy my feet weren't itchy all the time just mainly at night and I did have cholestasis so I would still suggest getting blood tests if there is any question.

My new little guy arrived 8 days early on 1 March. Boy life is busy with a toddler and a newborn!!

Just thought I'd update and say that I have had two lots of blood tests and all negative so I haven't developed Cholestasis so far this time (I am 38+5)and now don't expect too. The earlier itching I had never progressed and it seems it was just itching. It has gone now. I had mild PE as well mumoftwins - only found out when I went into hospital for blood tests for the OC. I had it with my 2nd pregnancy but not my 1st or 3rd!! Mine was mild enough to be controlled by medication but as I was also suffering from mild PE and on meds for that that made me super drowsy I opted for early deliver (had had previous c-section so just booked it in.)

I didn't have it in my first pregnancy, but did in my second (induced at 36 weeks). Watching with interest, though i have more or less ruled out having a DC3

I find it surprising how little is known about it - i had never heard of it, and as it effects 1 in 200 pregnancies it is not extemely rare.

Yes, I'm a hayfever sufferer as well. Last time I just mentioned in passing to my midwife that my feet were so itchy at night I was having trouble sleeping thinking it was just one of those things. Next thing you know I'm off having lots of tests.

Yeah, seems like something so few people have heard of. I'm only 13 weeks along in pregnancy two, and so hoping it doesn't come back again this time! I was induced at 38+4 last time but mistook symptoms for my normal hay fever type allergy and didn't tell anyone for a while. Oops. Oh, I would like to hear of any experiences too. I have just had the blood tests this week to see if I have it again in my 2nd pregnancy. I was induced at 37+3 last time, really don't want to be any earlier than that again.

I was hoping that it wouldn't occur again but my feet are starting to itch again already so there is a good chance.
