I think in the mentioned case of genetic disease yes - although you'd be selecting a healthy one rather than gender... otherwise I'm really against it - why not also say I want blonde hair and blue eyes? I understand gender selection for medical purposes but IMO when you choose to bring a baby into a family it should be because you have love to offer to another child not just one of a specific gender.

I wouldn't do it, but understand people doing it to balance out a family, ie if you have all boys/girls or for genetic reasons. I think people should be able to pay for it but need to prove they are balancing or should be funded for those with genetic issues.

I think you end up with the baby you are meant to have whether a girl or a boy.

I dont think people should be allowed to choose the gender of their child without a really sound reason for it.

My sister's husband is a carrier of a genetic disorder that could be devastating if they were to have a boy. I love the 'lucky dip' of if it's a boy of girl. loved finding out at the scan.

Really what is the difference between a boy or girl?! Other than the obvious pink/blue.

I had preferences with my first and last (and got what I wanted) but no,would never mess with mother nature,or abort a baby for being the wrong sex.
I might have been disappointed initially,but I would have still been grateful for them no matter what the sex

I make no secret that I would love a girl lol after 4 boys most assume it anyway. however as much as I would love a little girl I wouldnt go down IVF road to do it and I certainly wouldnt abort a baby becoz of gender.

No, while I might have preferences it's never that important to me. On the other hand, no issue if others wanted to (choosing to implant only boy or girl embryos through IVF etc). I kind of figure that if only one gets to go back in, there's no real harm in making it the flavour the parents are keen on.
