I only rarely buy single items of baby clothes, and then it's fancy brands that I can't afford new. I'm much more likely to buy a bulk lot. I don't sell anything for less than $6, just not worth it. I would rather put it in a clothing bin.

I use pre paid bags & will refund any postage over paid..using the bags mean I don't end up spending any money on p&p myself & I don't charge petrol either.

I don't over price but I put what I want & if I don't get it I don't sell it. I don't sell crap.

I check bigger items to see what they are going for & wait for a good time to sell it, also sell when demand is there, like winter clothes I list just before winter etc.

When I buy I factor in postage, I don't buy from trader that over price postage.

I am picky what I buy & work it out to see how much of a saving I would get & if its not much then I don't buy it, rather pay a few extra $ & get new.

As a buyer I don't buy individual items from a trader unless it is worth a bit, otherwise as you say the cost of postage outweighs the item. But if I know they have other stuff listed I will often check it out to see if I can combine stuff. As for bulk lots, there would have to be one or two good quality or nice looking pieces in there to interest me. If it's just a whole lot of so so stuff I usually don't look too hard. Attractive lots might have a nice shirt and shorts set that go together, or a dress with cardigan to go with it. Call me fussy!! Thanks for the replies. Yeah, i don't normally splash out on a gallery listing for an item that is on for $3 but maybe I should.

I have tried $1 reserve before but found some items sold for $1 so with success fees it doesn't amount to much.

AnnaShev - you bring up a good point. I have been using $4 postage paid bags (for convenience!) but that makes a $3 item turn into a $7 item - not such a good deal I suppose. Was thinking of getting a roll of brown paper to make it cheaper. Maybe that will help.

Good photos and like the others have said a gallery listing helps. Also make sure the auctions finish at a good time, in the evening on a weekday is good - but not around kiddy bed/bath/dinner times or in the middle if the day.

I personally have had good results when I list the brand names, make sure I have the postage costs known and listed, and spring for that gallery photo. I have found I have had to put $1 reserve on individual items. If selling bulk lots, make sure you have good photos, a good list of what is included, and I personally prefer that all the clothing is the same size.

If its something there are lots of then they usually take a while. I find if I have a buy now on there its good. Also make sure you state where you live for pick ups- suburb or area is fine. I also state there will be a delay in postage as I only do postage once a week.

You could also try your local buy, sell, swap or if there is a car boot sale near you, or plunket baby bonanza. Hi

I have finished having kids and have a LOAD of clothes, toys, baby stuff (all in great condition) that I would like to sell on Trade Me. We really need the money so it's my first option, if no luck then I will pass them on to needy families.

Does anyone have any selling tips - I have put a few things on and they are not selling. I put them on for $2 or so but I guess there is so much stuff on Trade Me, is it really worth it? Even my bulk lots aren't selling.

Anyone advice appreciated! Anyone else had lots of luck selling their stuff?
