Dd was in cloth at 3 days old, ds I think we used sposies or a week. Then both in fulltime cloth with a sposie overnight. Until.........we moved and between the 2 of them I had almost 2.5 weeks of v& d and a broken washing line    Now ds is in sposies. I do feel awful about the amount of rubbish

Cloth nappies saved us heaps of money and they've been passed on. still using cloth wipes though.

Oh, and I don't really enjoy rinsing off a particularly messy dirty nappy... but I enjoy the money I save more than I hate the job of washing them And it's not really a biggie - I agree with whoever said that wiping a wriggling dirty bottom can be plenty grosser.

Depending on the rash we sometimes have to switch to sposies too. I'm mainly full time cloth but do use sposies at times. Generally when we are travelling or she has bad nappy rash. I prefer cloth for many reasons though and it's always a good feeling when I'm using them again after using sposies. Cloth in the day, sposies at night. We went with cloth to save money, mostly, and it really does. Also, they look so damn cute. We use itti bitti d'lish nappies.

I'm pretty flexible, though, I'll use sposies sometimes when I'm out as they last longer, and when Jacob has nappy rash I find cloth tends to make it worse (I know others have the opposite experience - I think in our case sposies tend to keep his botty drier).

We used disposables for the first 2 weeks of our son's life - we had enough to deal with just trying to adjust! Once he was 2 weeks' old, we started using a one-size-fits-all cloth nappy. We have used BumGenius (love them!) and FuzziBunz (like them, but not as much as BG). I bought a wet bag for when we are out and about. The wet bag is from PlanetWise and will hold 2 cloth nappies and keeps the moisture and odour locked in.

Also, I use a flushable liner and just place that on top of the nappy. That way, any waste is caught by the flushable liner, and I can just flush it away rather than dealing with rinsing or scraping out the nappy. I do keep some disposables around, though, for times when we are in creche at church (cloth nappies aren't allowed). I'm planning on using cloth, I hate the idea of disposables and their impact on the environment.

And the cost is also a huge factor.

Sposies, had cloth, used them like twice and sold them all on. I struggle to stay on top of the washing as it is let alone putting another load in. I have always used disposables...& loved them. They have got cuter & better over the years. Easy to use, no washing, drying folding or wet smelly nappies waiting for a wash. I never likes the way cloth looked on babies as they look so bulky between the legs.

Aiming for Cloth 100% of the time, after about 3/4 weeks... have a hire kit coming but have my heart set on Itti Bitti OSFM (in LOVE with the colours and how soft they are)

Right now, full time sposies - I have enough trouble trying to keep on top of my washing while working!! When I'm at home again then it will depend on the day and my mood, lol! Full time sposies here too, tried the MCN hire kit and having to contend with my first pooey nappy put me off.

I find cleaning the little bottom worse than washing the nappies, newmama

Cloth fulltime here, and will be for the next one too. DD's been put in sposies a couple of times at daycare and it gives her the most horrendous rash, so I told them never again!

We use large bitti boos in thirsties covers at night - she's in them from about 6.30pm till she agrees to a nappy change in the morning, usually after breakfast, so around 7-8am. Recently we've started boosting them with a medium SIO trifold cos sometimes she's a super-wetter. fallen - It's not that much more washing, seriously!!

We've been using cloth in the day since 10 days old and full time from about 8 weeks. Love using cloth nappies and will use them from birth for the next baby.

I've got some cheaper cloth nappies, which I am finding great!! They're called Sunny Baby, and I bought them off trademe. They didn't work so well when baby was little, but since he was 4 months or so, they have worked great! I still use a disposable at night though. We use cloth on DS. But DD has disposables for naps, cloth at night.

From about 2yrs DD stopped wearing cloth. I was pregnant & couldnt handle toddler poo in cloth anymore so we used disposables

Faffer i love Pop Ins for night time use. They are quite dare but well worth it. They are also on clearance now.

I want to use cloth! I have been investigating the best option on what ones to buy and use - obviously ones with packs that carry the child through are what I want.
