Do we live in the same house?! HAHA I was just reading the description and it sounds oddly familiar!

We will definitely be putting a fence up the front section. Luckily we have a screen/mosquito door covering our main exits, so we can just lock those and still get the fresh air into the house.

Also make syre there are no water containers for him to fall into, and nothing breakable.

Sliding door instead of front door, and unfenced driveway. We have a regular baby gate across the doorway (in front of the slidey part, if that makes sense). Stops my 2.5yr old DD getting out. We got it last summer as I wanted to be able to keep the door open without her escaping (which she did once ).

Something like this Gate

Personally I'd get a gate made for the side of the house. Or is there anything you can buy like that, for outside? Do the indoor gates work for outdoors?

Also we have a sliding door at the front of the house rather than a front door, so we need to find a way to have that open but so the baby can't get out. What have people done with this?

With summer coming and him on the verge of walking I will make sure he goes outside a lot to play but want him to be safe as possible.
