He had them done in the morning with no probs & then after 10pm that night he was crying & could not walk or put ant weight on his foot. The area where he had the injection was the size of a bread & butter plate, so basically his whole thigh & it was hard & very hot.

We lived in the country & I had to drive over 30kms in a storm to the nearest after hr dr...they gave him some meds & watched him for a wile then I had to pay $ & take him home. It took a couple of days for it to go down.

He had not had any reaction to previous vaccinations so it was a real surprise. DS2 &3 who are also fully vaccinated have not had any reactions to any of their vaccinations either.

My daughter recently had her 4yr old vaccinations. Late the next day she developed a fever & the site became very inflamed (was actually red & swollen from elbow to shoulder) For us it wasn't the arm that had the MMR but the other one that had the DTap-IPV. Took her to the Urgent Dr & they gave her antibiotics & antihistamine. Not 100% sure if it was actually a reaction to the vaccine or a secondary skin infection from the injection. If your son's arm is still inflamed, i'd contact the place that gave you the immunisation. I think if the site of injection is swollen & red larger than a old 50c piece they report it.
