We're out in Rangiora, so we dont feel as much as everyone else in CHCH, but Thomas slept thru the september one, was at preschool for the other 2 big ones and apparently didnt really notice! The baby however did wake up for the feb one but nothing else bothered her. We're very very lucky.

I know it sounds silly, but perhaps some kiddy councelling or something similar?

    Author: JsMamma
Subject: 40565
Posted: 21 September 2011 at 12:01pm

Hi there, hoping to get some suggestions (or at least knowledge I'm not alone) for my 2 year old son who's sleeping has gone to the pack since the June 13 quake. He had been coping with the previous ones, but I guess the last one tipped him over the edge. He was a great sleeper (12 hours a night, self settled when I put him to bed) and now it's turned into having to lie beside him until he falls asleep and then he proceeds to wake 2 hourly and won't go back to sleep unless I'm lying next to him. He also seems to have periods of insomnia where he'll be awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. At some exhausted point in the night I put him into our bed. This has been the pattern every night for the last 3 months and I'm really worried about what the sleep depreviation is doing to his little body (and my mind!).
