He has had a skin prick test but nothing came up. Could he still benefit from trying different diets eg dairy free, to see if it helps?

    Author: JD
Subject: 40163
Posted: 10 August 2011 at 7:29pm

My sister had this and it was terrible for her. she went to drs, natropaths, alsorts etc and paid alot of money and got alot of different advice.

In the end, she did a course of about 3 months of anti histamines along side cutting some things out of her diet like alcohol, tomatoes, strawberries, chocolate etc. This cleared it enough to get her back on a managable track. She can now have those foods, but in small amounts. She can also keep most of the eczema at bay with moisturising regularly so to avoid the steoroid creams. She also makes her own soap and is careful with the washing powder she uses.

I hope you find a solution soon...it is such a aweful thing to have to go through (my sis was often in tears just feeling ugly and itchy).

I suffer from asthma and hayfever and very small amounts of eczema on occasion. Have you been tested to what you are actually allergic to? I did the aweful prick test...but at least I could see what exactly was setting me off and avoid it if poss. I think you can get blood tests now to find out if different foods effect you.

All the bext xo
