If you are worried tho, check with your GP before hand

With DD1 it just stretched a bit, but DD2 it was the start of a massive stretch mark - and its the only one I got! Luckily it heads downwards into my pubic area, was a bit gutted that it caused a stretch mark in the second pregnancy though as I was alot smaller second time round

A good oil for stretch marks could work too.
Author: High9
Subject: 40076
Posted: 02 August 2011 at 11:37am

Hi, just wondering if anyone can answer a few questions I have regarding scars (from abdominal surgery) and pregnancy...

I'm not pregnant yet but DP and I are planning to get pregnant. I had my gall bladder out in May but it was laparascopic pregnancy. I think I remember hearing somewhere about scars rupturing or splitting open but I can't for the life of me remember where! Anyway my question was can scars split open due to all the stretching, etc of the skin?

I have put on a wee bit of weight since May (about 4kg) and have noticed they are a bit sore, kinda stretchmark sore/itchy.

Hope that makes sense! Thanks in advance!
