Author: millemama
Subject: 40015
Posted: 27 July 2011 at 8:40am

Thats funny, I was having the same thought maybe needing blue wraps instead of pink this time, was thinking of using Dylon, they come in a sachet at the chemist and last time I looked the price had shot up to around $10 per colour. I am familiar with colours and mixing, and was thinking a deep blue which would make the wraps a bluey purple colour, more blue as some of my wraps are quite a soft pink and others are white with pale pink design etc. The other idea was a red dye. I'd imagine that mixing ligh pink and brown or beige would work well, would come out mushroom brown depending on the strength of colour. Hope that helps, let me know how you get on.

I've seen it in some chemists though and its in a teeny round tin type thingy (how helpful is that lol)
The darker the colour you go for the less the pink will effect it and I also think the amount of time you leaft it in the dye help too.
I have memories of mum having a pot of dye on the stove heating it up.....those fumes probably aren't the best!!

Where do I get the dye from? Is there a certain brand thats better and more likly to "stick".

Also if my wraps are pink and I want to make them a more boyish colour, what colour dye would be best? A brown, or would that go yuck brown rather than a chocolate brown?

The wraps are 100% cotton so take it they will dye ok?

TIA
