Castor bay reserve has a nice playground for small children. Also has easy beach access.

We've recently discovered Kennedy park playground (off beach rd). It's quite small, but has some interesting play equipment. There's also a path down the hill to the beach below

Hobsonville Point Park one - easily the best playground i have ever been to. It is totally unique, a sculptural wonderland. And awesome swings on a really long rope so they can go super high. We went out there looking for it and found few good ones in the process but that one was just so different to any playground i've ever been to.

We travel from this side of the bridge to go to Browns Bay and Hobsonville parks. Over this side, we love Coyle Park in Pt Chev (its a little muddy if there has been a LOT of rain - but great in summer as the beach is handy if you want to do that too!) Rocket Park (avoid around school getting out time though), Western Springs (next to the zoo - you can hear the lions), Mission Bay (has a great sandpit), Olympic Park in New Lynn is great too.

Rocket Park in Mt Albert is great. thanks Hayz- all 3 of those parks are big favourites here as well. Onepoto reserve is great for the older kids because of the biking track.

Mairangi Bay playground is great (behind the ASB and chemist etc) - fully fenced, no dogs allowed, close to shops for a coffee stop etc and a lovely setting. Kennedy Park (off Beach Rd, near Campbells Bay) is also beautiful and has a great playground, big park, fab views of harbour. The big reserve in Northcote (think it's Onepoto?) is great too, great to feed the ducks as well. The akl city council website has great info on all the parks and playgrounds . Have fun - what a fab idea! Ella & I have decided to put together a booklet of different playgrounds on the North Shore, so whenever we decide to go to the playground she can have a flick thru the book and decide where to go.......So for those that live on the Shore whats your favourite playground to visit? Also can anyone recommend any really good big playgrounds over in Auckland that would be worth paying a visit to.
