I have tried many different ways to get to sleep. Luckily my friend suggested listening to a relaxing playlist. I fell asleep after listening to that playlist. Have a soothing bubble bath with a few drops of essential oils recommended as safe to use by an aromatherapist, and drink a cup of hot milk with honey or a cup of calming chamomile tea. Read a few chapters of a good book or watch your favourite television programme for a bit of escapism and to put your mind off pregnancy related worries, or practice the breathing and relaxation techniques you have learnt during your prenatal classes. Whatever works best for you, make sure you remember to do it every night!

    Author: T_Rex
Subject: 39779
Posted: 02 July 2011 at 8:33pm

This is driving me insane atm! What can I do to help get a decent sleep?

I go to sleep fine in the evenings, but then either DD wakes me around midnight or I might get to 2am before I need to pee, and from then on I'm struggling to get back to sleep. Usually I've just nodded off when DD wakes up for the day at 5-5.30 am. So I'm way short of sleep and would dearly love to get more before #2 arrives. This has been going on for a couple of months now and it's extra sleep deprivation I can't really afford.

For those who've suffered this before, what worked to get you back to sleep?
