And changed out of them pretty much the instant I got back to the house.

I set myself some small goals - run to the end of the street, run around the park etc etc until I was back running a 5km loop. I was walking straight after Alex's birth (and he was big too, 4.7kg and a natural birth) but I didn't start running until around the 14 weeks mark. Probably too much information, but before that I tried a couple of times and it felt like my insides were going to fall out so I went back to walking and did more pelvic floor exercises!

In terms of a kick - I found if I told people I was going for a run that day, and put on my running gear by a certain time then it was far more likely to happen.

I saw an osteopath, which helped a lot.
I didn't really get back into running until DD was about 14 months, but after a couple of months I got back issues, which still haven't been solved. I do wonder if it is the SPD that I had in pregnancy, that has caused my current back issues(I never had any back problems before I got pregnant).

Anyway, just wanted to say, be careful if you still have pain.
Oh, and it would probably be a good idea to work on your core stability, cause that will help your back heaps when you start running again.

Good luck.

I ran occasionally before that but my boobs were really sore when I ran till I stopped BFing and my insides felt like they were gonna fall out for ages.

When I did start back more than occasionally I started slow and easy. Lots of walking - I walked several power poles and then ran some etc etc and slowly built up to running longer stretches.

When I did do some running while still BFing I wore two sports bras. Made me sweat a lot but provided heaps of support.

Just go easy on yourself when you start back.
