We went to one in the weekend and DS loved it. We had the party room for 1.5 hours and the food arrived 30 minutes into it with ice creams and cake delivered about 15 minutes later. We could say hi, give the birthday boy his present and had time to have a quick play before the food came. The family didn't open presents at all there, but you could either open them upon arrival or after the food, the kids are pretty keen to get back out there to play though. This family had ordered a pot of coffee, platter of food and jug of lemonade for the adults. Only 1-2 people drank the coffee, most went and got flat whites from the cafe. I wouldn't bother with extra food for adults as the kids only ate about 1/3 of the food so the adults were snacking on what was left.

Once we had to leave the party room we just adjourned to the cafe area and the kids carried on playing for about an hour or so. We're not bothered by opening presents at the party or later - but i know myself, if I buy something for someone else i like to see their reaction when they open it, so i was more thinking from that perspective

Jack's friend had his 3rd birthday at a Lollipops and I would suggest that if you want to open the presents while the guests are there then do it straight after the cake like SMoody suggested. I had one for McKayla for her 4th birthday. You can chose from the menu plan what you would like to serve for the kids (and you can swop out if there is allergies).

Then you usually have to pay extra for adults to eat and drink. They have some platters you can serve and you can organise before hand to set up a tab for the party so adults can help themselves to coffee or tea the cafeteria (or you can prepay for an urn of tea or coffee). That is if you are paying for the adults drinks and eats.

Party games? Naaah wont worry about it as literally kids will come in drop the gift off and go off playing and then you and parents will have a hard time getting them to go sit down to eat.

They do have a cake that they give as well but you are allowed to bring your own cake in. I would say when everyone is sitting down after they ate and sang the birthday song to open the gifts up while someone is cutting the cake.

And then you are allowed to still play afterwards even if you dont have the party room. Just move it to the seating area near the cafe.

We finally decided on Lollipops for my sons upcoming birthday, (needing an indoor venue other than home)

I was wondering if anyone has had a party there and what i should expect.

I know the room is booked for 1.5 hours, and that food arrives 30 minutes after the booking time - but what about the rest

Should i organise some party games? Do you tend to have a present time? Or is it more that everyone tends to eat, then once finished just head out to play?

Thanks in advance! (I just always like to know what to expect lol)
