Thanks for the m&s tip - I didn't know that about delivery; it would be well worth it if buying several things. I love their kids clothes - so neat and stylish whilst still looking like kids clothes.
Inthink, considering the price of gas at the moment, and the hassle it is tO go shopping with kids, that paying postage is totally worth it most of the time!

Marks and Spencers is a great one too. They charge a flat rate delivery of 15 pounds irrespective of how much you buy. The childrens clothes are great, cheap and really good quality. They also have all the branded stuff (Thomas, Cars etc) for a very reasonable price, much less that the ridiculous prices I have seen here. Even better if they have a sale on too.

Thanks so much for sharing all your sites - I am defintely going to check out ASOS, and I had no idea that new look shipped to NZ so that's fantastic!

I find the clothing quality far, far superior in the UK, even from the cheaper, high street chain shops. In fact, I got several items of clothing from Tesco supermarket last time I was there, and they are as good as Pumpkin patch stuff! I don't think you can go wrong with UK clothing quality.

I know it's not baby stuff, but we bought all our dive gear from Kent Diving in the UK - we saved a FORTUNE. My hubby got top of the line MARES BCD, regs, octi, accessories etc and even with the $100 postage and $200 customs fee, we saved over $1000, compared to what it would have cost to go down the road and buy it here! crazy, huh.

Gotta love the strong $$$$ at the moment

Just be careful of customs. Hi,

I have just been reading through your postings, I am from the UK and find that clothing in NZ is VERY expensive and if you buy cheap it's not such good quality as the cheap shops in the UK.

I see that some of you have purchased from ASOS and NEXT. Another site to go to for maternity clothes is www.newlook.co.uk they have some really pretty summer dresses on there at the moment and deliver to NZ for a small fee. Check it out! It's cheap and the quality is really good!

I often buy from overseas as well. But usually do it through Ebay where I have a little bit of buyer protection. I often buy stuff from overseas because sometimes New Zealand just doesn't have the range, or it's cheaper to get it from the US even with shipping costs.

Also, I love Etsy! i buy from amazon - usually find the uk shop cheaper than the US at the moment - and both have free delivery to NZ at the moment for books, cds, dvds

I have brought from Next for baby clothes and also for crafts a place called ohmycrafts.com in the US. I've just brought some maternity clothes from ASOS. Never really brought stuff from overseas before and having never been to the UK I have no idea what their stuff is really like quality wise but NZ's maternity range is so crap i thought I'd take a chance. And also free delivery!

So, who buys from over the pond??
Coming from the uk, I find nz ridiculously expensive for most things...so often look elsewhere! I thought if there was anyone else who did the same could share tips, and websites :)
Or maybe I'm the only one!!

Well, I get all my kids books from the book depository website - often at least half the price of nz and totally free delivery to anywhere in the world. They also do things like sticker books :) the wonky donkey is only about $8 on that site!

Last week I bought a baby sleeping bag from slumbersac.co.uk - only $40 including delivery! They seem to be a top uk brand and have great reviews. You can buy another brand there that is $120 here for only $50 - can't remember what its called!!
