I stopped BFing a week after DD's first birthday. I had 24hrs of very faint spotting about 2wks after that, and have just had my first proper period ad it was soooooooo heavy and sore. Normally I don't get them very bad at all. Only time will tell if it sorts itself out, but yea, I've heard from a lot of friends with babies that theirs were all up the whack for a good few months so I'd say it's normal

Probably not ovulating then! What a shock - I had no idea!

Edited by nathansmummy

And I stopped breastfeeding about 6mths ago. Now I honestly cannot remember how many periods I have had since stopping breastfeeding. Whether I have had two or three. But it feels like ages since I last had a period!

I just was saying to DH I hope I'm not going through early menopause!!! Be shocking if I was! I am 36.

Any other post-breastfeeding experiences where periods were weird? Just don't know what is normal and crossing fingers I might be (normal)..

Edited by nathansmummy
