Thanks ladies. Am going to visit today to have a look. I have heard people talk about the structure as being a problem but am not sure why it is supposed to be a problem. Like with every preschool, I think it is important that you like how the teachers relate to the children.nd not all Montessori prteschools are the same, even though they follow the same philosophy. We love our Montessori preschool.  Our boy started when he turned three, and he refused to just stay for half days as he didn't want to miss out on anything.  So he's there from 8.30am-3.30pm two days a week, and he'll do an extra day when he turns four.  He is also a quiet/shy type, but has made lots of friends and is very happy there.  The only downside of the structured day for DS is that he gets pretty tired by home time.  Some parents of very energetic kids find there are too many indoor activities and not enough time spent running around wildly outside - I know of one parent who switched her four year old to regular kindy for that reason.

Hi,
I am trying to choose where to send my 3 yo boy and there is a Montessori school in the area which would totally suit all our needs in terms of location, 1/2 sessions leading to fulltime and could also take my younger one in a year when i go back to work. It has small numbers and my boy is quite quiet and i am a bit worried he might get lost at kindy.

I'd love to hear people's ideas/experiences of Montessori pre-schools. It sounds like it might be quite structured but i'm not sure what the benefits or pitfalls of this might be - surely school is quite structured too?
