Church isn't really a part of my life (unless I'm visiting my parents), but I still have hot cross buns and eggs. Although this year I didn't buy DF an egg - he is not religious in any way and couldn't understand why we'd have eggs, especially when we're trying to not eat chocolate and lost weight...

This year DS 7 has a WWF egg in a mug and DS16months has a hotwheels one with a bowl, mug and spoon. DS15 is getting a block of chocolate cos well hes old enough to not need the egg thing. I have gotten myself some giant chocolate cadbury buttons (otherwise I would miss out if I didnt buy for myself)

I have also bought a carton of Cadburys eggs (15 pack of hollow ones for $8.99) to hide around the garden. My MIL normally buys the kids PJs instead of chocolate but she has realised that cos I dont have any family that its just us buying for the kids so they dont get much so she was nice and did up a basket for the kids as well as the PJs.......I think I will hide that in one spot in the garden as the main prize. Last year we did a treasure bunny map and showed the places the eggs were hidden. Will do that again.

Im thinking baking is a good idea over the weekend. I almost hope it rains one day so we can have a stay inside baking day

Just a few small eggs and then a marshmallow bunny at the end. My mum & dad get the kids winter pj's instead of an egg but both my Nanas buy eggs for the kids so it gets a little like a chocolate overload and then my sisters buy them eggs and yeah WAY to much chocolate in the end. I am also hoping to do some easter baking over the weekend maybe some cupcakes and biscuits more for the fun of it and the decorating not so much the eating of it.

I hope to teach DD the real meaning of Easter once she is old enough to understand.
This yr I wanted to spend less on eggs but it has not happened. My kids don't get eggs from others & only now & then from DH's parents. They got one yesterday from them that they scoffed straight away.

We have bought them a bag each with a bunny & 3 little eggs in...DH has already given it to them..school holidays
We also got them a pack of 3 they were on special for about $6 each & will get them Sunday & I have a few tiny eggs for the egg hunt but need to get some a little bigger.

Last yr DH let then pick one & it cost nearly $90 grr cause of the toy in the packs so no way was that happening again this yr.

I think I have spent $35 on 3 kids which is not bad. I would be quite happy just doing an egg hunt but DH gets sucked in to the whole spend money on eggs thing. Maybe next yr.

A friend spent over $50 on eggs for her 1 child she let him pick what he want with a limit of $50...

We have not got any hot x buns, the kids don't eat them & I don't need anything with butter added to it at the moment

eta sp

Edited by jazzy
