I shared with 2of my brothers until I was about oooooooh8?

Then I somehow ended up in my own room, I think I was meant to share with one of them but they didn't want to so all three slept in one room until the oldest was 20? bahaha with live in girlfriends. Then the other 2shared until I moved out a few yrs later.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I actually can't remember why I was moved out. But suited me especially when it was decided we all needed new beds and I was getting a bunk for those just incase times and ended up with the double on bottom single up top and of course slept on the bottom. my bro and sis shared a room for ages. Started when sis was 4.5 and bro 2 and ended when sis 12 and bro 10!!! I am 4 years older than my sis so I guess my parents thought since they were closer in age and since I was at school with homework etc I needed my space...no complaints from me!!!
They argued a lot but no more than normal... I dont think it is weird at all, maybe they shared for a bit too long but had to wait for an extra room to be built!!

All 4 of us (2 boys 2 girls) shared a room until 6 or 7 then it was girls share one room and boys share the other.

I don't think there is any big problem with it unless they are close in age and getting to puberty.

Nah, nothing wrong with it. I shared a room with one or other of my brothers until around 10ish. My parents gave me my own room well before I felt like I needed it. Even then we used to have 'sleep overs' where we'd camp in each other's room.

So it's just your friend I reckon. I bet she can't even actually articulate what she thinks is wrong with it - just that it's 'wrong'. I'm considering my next one going in with DD once the bub is old enough to move out of our room (we had DD in till 7 months and plan on doing similar again)....although DD is a TERRIBLE sleeper and wakes to everything... hrmm... we have one small room and one much bigger room (as well as our room), DD is in the small room at the moment, but the bigger room is MUCH warmer in winter so thought it might be good to put them both in there... will have to wait and see I guess...

My son and duaghter share, ahve done since DD was 11months, and they love it.... well I love it.

DS is a heavy sleeper so sleeps through anything, and DD is a light sleeper but loves I guess the 'feeling' of knowing someone is there. Case in point DS is away and DD woke last night at 11 and spent the night in our bed..... and this seems to happen everytime DS is away.

I think like others have said it only becomes an issue once they get older.... and need more privacy etc.

I also second doing it at a young age. My older 2 share a room and I never thought that they couldn't/shouldn't at this age. Sure once they are 11/12-ish I probably wouldn't have them share a room (well by that stage the boys will be sharing anyway).

My brother and I shared a room up until intermediate (it was a necessity, we only had small houses before then).

I think sharing a room is great and I dont think it matters if its a brother and sister sharing while they are kids especially if they get on - why not!

I plan to have my kids sharing a room one day....

I have my 12 year old daughter and 19 month old son sharing a room at the moment. This is because we don't have another room to put one of them in and we had to move DS from our room so the new baby has somewhere to sleep too. The only problems so far have been DS waking DD up when he has a bad night and DS touching all DD's 'treasures' when she 'forgets' to put them away.

Eventually we want to move and then DD will have her own room and DS will be sharing with his new baby sister. So again boy and girl sharing. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Especially if they share from a young age, they won't know any different. I think it would depend on the kids personalities too. If my mum had put me and my bro in the same room we would have killed each other. I was just wondering whether there is really anything wrong with boys and girls sharing a room? I know lots of people think there is but I really don't know? I'm just curious I guess.
