There are homoeopathic pills that you can just put under your tongue and they melt.
I get travel sickness too and the thought of taking a travel sickness pill makes me feel sick so homoeopathic remedies are a godsend here! Helps that Miss 2 will eat them like a special treat when travelling

Trick I learnt when having to give medication was to put the pill under the tounge then take a drink of water.

For starters you can't taste them and when you take the drink the pils are flicked to the back of the mouth and down. I know it sounds harder but it does work, don't ask me how - I take all my pills this way and can take five the size of fish oil ones this way. I second the Ginger Travel Calm. It works well with Nausea in general but also great for Travel too. My FIL swears by nausicalm. DH gets realy sea sick and took one for our ferry crossing recently and felt really good.

Travel sickness isn't one of Rescue Remedys usual usages but hey, it may work for you?

Umm other ones on the market are Sea Legs, Sea Bands, Avomine, several homeopathic remedies, a patch that you stick behind your ear and Nausicalm. Nausicalm used to be branded Marzine. It is a Pharmacist only medication. Methadone users have been known to abuse it so you 'may' find it hard to find a pharmacy that stocks it OTC. We (the pharmacy I work at) only sell it to our regular customers.

Good luck finding something that works for you. I suffer from Vertigo and have similar sort of symptoms. yup tried SeaLegs - useless lol. SeaBands worked for my MS when preg but do nothing for motion sickness.

will have to try that earplug trick and i think a docs prescription is next on the list.

what are paihia bombs? Can you not get Nausicalm (cyclizine) tablets? I used them for when I was sick and nauseous after giving birth and they worked. A pharmacy in Paihia sells them, you can fax an order through and they will post them to you.
Pretty much the only thing I've seen work on ppl that love feeding the fishies even in lake-like conditions.


Have you tried Sea Bands? DH swears by them.

When I had a nerve in my inner ear burst a doctor taught me a wee trick. Has anyone used it for motion/travel sickness?

I am TERRIBLE in the car/bus etc. I can't take public transport because I can't open the windows, and it's a bit hard to take a bucket if I have DS.

If I am in the car, I have to drive or take a bucket. Or stick my head out the open window. I have been known to have the A/C on full blast when it's snowing and -2*C outside.

Boats/barges/ferries - forget it.

I used to have travel sickness pills but can't find them anymore. Don't even remember what they were called. But since I have run out I refuse to go on a plane because it's just not a good idea without them. (Ever seen someone green? Well I am as green as Shrek)


I can't even be a passenger down to the shops because I still get queasy.


Have tried pretty much everything. It got insanely bad since being UTD. Before DS, I could get away with just sipping on a water bottle in the car to prevent travel sickness, but not anymore.
