It's a pretty crazy time of year for me right now. DS's 1st birthday this week. DD's 5th birthday next week. Her party this weekend. Swimming lessons and make up swimming lessons (missed last week as were sick), kindy, school, midwife appointment, glucose test, gestational diabetes specialist, etc.

Im so useles on this fourm thing LOL..
Well Matthew is doing very well.. he is also very huge (11.5kg and 77cm at 9m/o is now almost 11m/o)
Well a couple of weeks ago he decided he no longer wanted to be breast feed so is mainly on formula with the odd breastfeed.. we found out a few days ago that we are expecting #2 due in july (explaind the stop in breast feeding from matthew!)
Hope all is well with every one elses babies :)

I agree, thinking about first birthdays already! Time is flying!

I was looking forward to becoming a mum and had wanted it for a long time. But I'm enjoying it and my girl even more than I thought I would. Everyone tells you how quick babies grow. I have really tried to take it all in, and truly appreciate every stage but I still look back at the newborn photos and think...whoa, is that wee bundle really my little girl?? The days seem to blur very easily. Yep, she'll be borrowing the car before I know it!

Where has the time gone, my baby has all grown up!

Hehe yes, Miss Payton is 6 months old today! I woke at 4:39 this morning, 1 minute before she was born and because I couldn't fall back asleep I decided to go through all her baby photos...seriously, where did my little baby go! She's rolling like a pro, started solids in the last week, chatting up a storn to anyone who will listen, trying to break down the doorframe in her Jolly Jumper and breaking hearts left, right and centre!!!

So since the last post we have now left our house and settled into my parents until the big move to Whangarei which I think we've settled on the 8th July as the date. Is there anyone on here who lives in (or near!) Whangarei? I've got all DH's friends, but majority of them are males and none of them have kids, or even partners for that matter lol. I may be biased but I do believe she is the cutest We took the photo in Jan when she had just started doing big smiles and getting close to giggling. This photo was taken with her being silly with my mum and I happened to pop a wet wipe(water wipes) on her head, she thought it was really funny. I don't think we had laughed so much in ages.

My sister was round today with the little one Skin is looking heaps better, and feels heaps better. She has been using a mix of the cream and oil. Such a little sweetie, she slept on me for about 45mins. Lexie looked a little confused when I had Mila and my sister was holding her.... We had done a swapsie lol. I had to laugh today, when all through her pregnancy she had said bubs was going to be in a bassinet in another room, even when I said she will have the bassinet right next to her bed, well little one wont sleep in the bassinet at night only during the day so they have her in bed with them and everyone gets a good nights sleep lol And here she was giving me funny looks when I say Lexie sleeps in with us.

Someone has started drooling again so were thinking she might be getting some more teeth through, and you can kind of see a whiteness to her upper gum, so we will see, might still take a couple of weeks to get close to cutting. Not looking forward to it, she has only just learnt not to bite with the 2 she already has.
How is everyone else going on the teeth side of things? I think Lexie is crazy early, but maybe she isn't?

Yay for Payton!
We had ours last Wed, Lexie 61cm, 6.97kg and HC 41.
Our nurse was impressed with the 2 teeth and how well she is hitting milestones. Next appointment not till she is 10 months!!!! So a while to wait, She'll definitely be crawling by then, she isn't quite there yet, she doesn't mind being on her tummy but doesn't quite get her knees under her yet, but hey she isn't doing to bad and she'll get there, I have a feeling she just wants to learn to walk and by pass the crawling stage.

My little sister had her baby last Wed too, which was super exciting, gorgeous little girl, who is only 7cm shorter than Lexie!!! poor thing has really dry skin though, I have given my sister the made for baby massage oil and botty cream, too see if that helps but does anyone else have any good ideas on what will work? Hoping for something on the more natural side of things, I worry it might develop into eczema or similar so don't want anything that might aggravate it.

5 month Plunket check up today...5 months?!?! Where did that go??? Miss Payton is doing very well, very proud of how she's going
6.18kg, 42.5cm head and 64cm long but very happy...but definitely a lot of hard work as she's definitely a Mummy's girl!!!
Moving up to Whangarei in July so currently trying to pack our house up into storage containers for 6 months. Not easy by myself while DH is working away from home AND with Payton but we will get there. Hi guys just thought I would drop in and let you know that I am FINALLY pregnant again. After months and months of let downs I got a positive test last week. Have done antenatal bloods and everything. Unfortunately I have an infection again which is what caused my pre-term labour with Olympus so hopefully we have caught it early enough that it won't cause any problems this time. Summer and butterflies sounds like a great theme. I've decided that we are also going to have a very merry unbirthday for her on the 9th December. Might just have it as a family dinner but Alice in wonderland(disney cartoon version) theme. Might draw a little bit of that influence in for her real birthday.

Solids is a really interesting thing to see when babies are ready, we weren't expecting her to be ready this early. I'm nowhere near ready to start weaning her yet though, still enjoying BFing, so still keeping on with the demand feeding but once a day will give her a top up with some solids, really just to get her taste buds familiar with different tastes and textures. We have found she really loves the Only Organic Banana and Apple. I have made up some homemade stuff but don't think I have it smooth enough so going to wait till she is a little bigger to try her on that.

We just had a great day of gardening. It's been on the cards for ages but the weather and timing hasn't been great for my IL's to come over to help. But they were free today, so out they cam with the trailer and the mulcher, We completely hacked(I mean "pruned" )back a bunch of trees along the fence to let a lot more light in and to tidy them up, and also almost completely got rid of the Oliander(sp?) since it is poisonous and Lexie is making her way towards crawling pretty soon and my nephew Lucas is almost at the walking unsupported stage, we don't really want it in the garden.
But we now have a lovely thick layer of mulch under the trees and they took away all the trimmings from the pomegranate tree(which if anyone would like to know has horrid spikes on it). Now all we need to do is finish getting rid of the cabbage tree leaves and we will have a lovely backyard again.

So happy with how our Plunket visit went yesterday, even though the nurse thought we were 12 weeks, not 16! That's what happens when you book for end of March not end of February like she was meant to! All good though.
Stats:
Weight: 5.53kg (3.08kg born, average 153.1gm/week) which makes her 12lb 2oz.
Head: 40.5cm (35cm born, average .35cm/week)
Length: 61.5cm long (46cm born, average .97cm/week)
So this still makes her in 0000 for mainly pants and tops, but we're wearing 000 in AIO's but still some 0000 so at least she's getting the most out of her clothes, not bad considering I was scared by my MW that I was having a 9lb baby easily!
We're not going to start solids anytime soon, will reassess at 5 months because she's still only drinking between 60 and 120mls at every feed instead of the 180-210mls she's 'meant to'. She just doesn't seem interested in it! I love looking back on the newborn photo's! I have only 3 pages left in Lexie's photo album(scrapbook) so have another one there all ready to go, and those are just the nice milestone type photos. I have also almost fulled 2 whole pocket albums. I have to laugh cause my bestfriend warned me about being one of "those" parents I have another couple of hundred photos to print too and that's just from the last month! I think I go a little OTT, lucky for me an old workmate(who is also my BIL bestfriend) works for one of the companies that does photo processing so he has said to give him a flash drive with the files and he will print them out for us, which is great going to save me soooooo much money.
I like to have lots cause it really shows her growing, which she is doing so quickly.
I have my nephews 1st birthday on the weekend, my sister and I are helping out by doing the cake, she is making the cake(in the shape of a duck, his favourite) and I'm making the water around the duck in other words lots of blue lamingtons. But it has got me thinking about her first birthday, which isn't going to be too far away really, so I'm starting to plan now, I already have a venue(the IL house) and idea for the theme(country high tea) and some idea on the decorations(lots of flowers, saw a neat presentation of them by having the flowers in jars inside a paper bag that has been cut to look like a basket) a little OTT I think but I've always thought that a kids first birthday is more for the adults than the kids. And we are lucky since it will probably be on labour weekend..... Not sure if I want to plan it for that weekend though, last time I did that it was my baby shower...... And we all know why that didn't happen


Has anyone else started to think birthday parties? Got my first giggle today Was changing her nappy and being silly by blowing raspberries on her tummy, apparently it was the funniest thing ever.
It makes up for the all the clothes she has just outgrown lol, a couple of the bodysuits I only bought a month ago, and she has only worn them once, I just can't get over how quickly she has grown in the last 2 months. Still a small 5 month but a large 3 month I have to say. At least my sister will get all the use out of the clothes. Bit late on this but I've got to jump in somewhere! Our little Eira was born 30th December (15 days over!) weight 8lb7/3820g at 54cm. At her last check at 7 weeks she was 5200g/11lb7 and 62cm! No she doesn't sound ready. Lexie is the same, though we have starting playing with her with a spoon, getting her used to having it in her mouth etc. She found it quite amusing lol, I might try feeding her breast milk with it and see if it helps when we do try her with solids. She'll be 6 months old in April so we aren't far away now.

I don't want Payton starting solids until 6 months, even though Mum and DH have been asking me. Yeah they were asking me since Lex is now almost 4 1/2 months. I thought it was early too! I did inform the plunket nurse I talk to on the phone that gestationally she is only 2 1/2 months so no where near ready. I guess they are seeing lots of babies now days that need topping up food wise from 4 months, my nephew did. But I want Lexie only on boob till 6 months, then we will start to see how she is progressing, if she is signaling she wants to try food.

Well done Lexie, nice to know that your milk goes somewhere besides down your fav top that you've just retrieved out of the laundry basket having washed it for the 10th time that week, lol.

We've got a grape vine and has produced mega crops but would recommend not to have near the house as this one wraps around our downstairs deck and wow what a mess the birds make having a go at the grapes. Bird poop everywhere. But grapes are nice, made verjuice last year with some of them and froze it, grape jelly with rest.

That dollhouse thats on my board HC, is not the one I was thinking of, but its the same except this one was about 4 shelves high by 4 wide, but can't find it anywhere.

DD2 woke up last night coughing and spluttering from a blocked up nose, poor little dot, must have picked up a cold from playgroup we went to this week. On the bright side... she is such a sunny little thing that she's still smiling, hasn't affected her disposition much, so different from DD1. I found the dollhouse on yours so repinned it MM, I know I thought it was such a great idea especially for herbs and lettuce, and for little gardeners Thought I might set something up like that for Lexie when she is bigger, could probably grow cherry tomatoes in it too. I liked the one too of the frame at an angle with another to grow climbers on, great for beans or grapes I bought a grape vine recently, have it in a pot but have the idea to grow it over a archway. When I have my own place that is.

We had a plunket visit yesterday, Liam is now 60cm long (was 54 at birth) I can't believe how fast he is growing. He has also put on 1100g in 3 weeks so is 5.7kg now.
8 weeks old today and I don't know where the time has gone.

I did the same thing with a dolls house I picked up off TM, was lots of fun. Just recently found a brilliant idea on Pinterest for a big girls dollhouse, if you have the room, just use 3 or 4 bay shelving x 3. Cheap from warehouse. Have them everywhere in the house and girls room as great for storage (we have none!). Just buy a pad of craft papers and decorate the back wall of each shelf with one, then add furniture. Yay got picked to review nappies
So strange am I that I am really excited.... Don't know what it is maybe the 7 hours sleep the lovely Miss Lexie decided to give me last night but I feel really good, like things are going so great!!!! My course start date has been delayed by a month but I don't mind just as excited for it. Got a dodgy packet of waterwipes(was moldy) but contacted reachME and they are replacing it for me, no arguments which is great, sometimes companies like to argue things like that but they were so wonderful about it.
All the planning for my sisters baby shower is going well, just really waiting on the day so I can make the food.
Have almost finished painting Lexie's dollhouse, got some beautiful paint from resene, was a bit of a pain with the lovely girl that was in there cause I was trying to get a close to "Tiffany" blue as I could, got an almost perfect match So just have to finish painting the walls and I can screw it all together, I also have almost all the kit set furniture for it made too, just want to paint it all. Even though she wont be using it for a while it has kept me busy which is good, probably not so much for the housework though lol.

How is everyone else going?
Hope everyone is enjoying their little monkeys especially as they are getting sooooo much bigger now. Off to Plunket tomorrow for our weigh in... My bet is on her being over 6kgs now. Such a big difference from the 2.2kg she was when born. DD has a floppy larynx (laryngomalacia), apparently not unusual, and she will grow out of it at about 12-18mths. Millemamma, DDs squeak is getting louder and louder.... I don't need the baby monitor as she does it while shes sleeping and I can hear her at the other end of the house!! I've got so used to it now I sleep through it, but wake up if it stops!

Just I had our 6 week jabs... how is it I have a 6 week old already. Our little girls not a cryer, so it was the most I'd heard her cry since being born. Apparently her legs are very muscley so it probably hurt more than it should.

We are being referred to the pediatrician as shes very squeaky when she breaths (sounds like an old window in a horror movie!). So they just want to be sure its all okay.

Hi ladies

Our wee Maya arrived on 27 December and is a little honey! She got a bit stuck after an hour and a half of pushing, and had a kiwi cup delivery in the end. Absolutely perfect though (despite a temporary conehead!). All up it was about a 16 hour labour, and was a really positive experience. I couldn't speak more highly of my midwife and the hospital midwives (CHCH Womens and Lincoln Hosp).

Maya's doing really well, gaining weight like a wee piggy. I found feeding pretty difficult to start with, but we're getting there now. She sleeps really well at night and usually does during the day as well, so we feel really blessed. I took her on her first grocery shopping trip today - she was underwhelmed by the whole experience and slept the whole time!

I'm loving being a mummy, although being at home by myself with her felt a bit funny for the first week or so. I'm hitting my stride now though and am really enjoying having a summer baby and going for lots of walks in the sun and fresh air.

Yeah I should add that our bedroom hadn't been vacuumed in a while Probably not since Lexie was born....Bad huh lol, since we are downstairs all the time it gets vacuumed once a week(when I can find the time. I think we are getting a bit more of a routine going which helps.
Lexie has been really good after hers, almost like she didn't have them, it's good you can go to your mum & dads for help I love having mum living with us so when Lexie is unsettled mum can help. I also think some of us may have been sidetracked by fb too I guess at this stage most mums are doing the sam thing lol, trying to get things done around having somebody who needs constant attention.
Felt quite proud of myself today, when Lexie was down for a sleep I managed to vacuum, mop and tidy my bathroom. Then when she was down in the arvo got my bedroom vacuumed, tomorrow my plan is to finish putting clothes away(sooooo much washing!!!!! Who knew someone so small could make that much washing!) and clleaning our tv room.

Hi lovlies

Just letting you all know our little bundle of joy, Mikayla Jane safely arrived on 3rd January 2012, at 8:12am in Tauranga Hospital.
She was induced as we were 12days overdue, she definitely was snug as a bug in there and did not want to come out, when she finally arrived mum sustained a 4th degree tear and required surgery straight after. All is well now and the care of received at Tauranga Hospital was top class!!

Hi all, lovely to come on and see the news of all the arrivals. Hope all is going well with the babies.

Our girl arrived on 3 December 2011 weighing 6lb 13. Following waters breaking and no labour, had to go into hospital to be induced - only needed the gel though to get things going and she arrived about six hours later.
