I worked as a dental assistant for 6 years and yup,we saw lots of pregnant women,in various stages of pregnancy (was a great time waster when they were big enough for me to see the baby kicking, the procedures weren't as boring for me lol )

They used a slow acting anestetic which didn't really cover the pain but was better than nothing. Good to have my teeth mostly back in order now. I had peridontal disease, they wanted to give me a local anesthetic for a clean (lol, because i'm a wuss and wouldnt hold still) but i bolted rather then have the injection - but the point is that they could do it. They can do heaps as long as they know - you should be fine. I saw a dentist at about the same stage you are. I had an abssess where my wisdom tooth was trying to come through. They suited me up and did an xray and gave me antibiotics until the absess disappeaed. A week later I had a local anaesthetic and they pulled the wisdom tooth.
